Post-Game Talk: Habs lose, eliminated from playoffs.

If we were absolute shit. Then Caps were shit. We were in on most games. A 1st place team vs a Wc2 team should look more dominant. Like the Carolina crushing NJ.
Exactly. Caps could easily have lost without the help of the officials. We will see who the officials bet in the next series.

Didn't think they'd win this game at all, so not unexpected.

The good news is the ones driving this team are our young players. Hutson, Demidov, Caufield, Slafkovsky, and Suzuki led this team. I'm excited for a full year of Demidov. What a pass to Suzuki for that chance in the slot near the end. Suzuki should have scored on that.

I thought Guhle & Xhekaj played well too. Dobes is fine as a backup. He's a fighter.

I'm fine with letting Dvorak & Armia walk. Hopefully FloJack is ready next year. Kid is big, physical & can PK. He's a better skater than Arber.

I'm also looking forward to Reinbacher making the team. We'll need to replace Savard.

Congratulations on a great career Savy!

Go Habs Go!
Hey brother I won't lie you gotta have the best posts on this forum game to game. Really appreciate you.

I repeat myself: the fact the this one line team made the payoffs is real miracle. I tip my hat to the coaching staff and I am very proud of the young players. I am also very happy that our 'future' star, Demigod, did not burn one year of his three year entry level contract. It could be important for there is a lot of work to do to improve the offence.
The following three years will be very interesting to follow.

Anyway, in the end, awesome season. So many positives. So many encouraging things. But...still A LOT of work needs to be done to move from lucky to be there to deserving to be there. 1st line needs help. The D needs help. We need to get bigger bottom 6.
It’s been easy lifting until now for HuGo, now the real hard work begins …

TBay showed tremendous promise in 2013, couldn’t take it to the next level for another 7 years.

Make Beliefs were in this exact spot with more top end talent in 2018…

Congratulations on a great season habs!! You are going to have a great exciting team for years.
If you check my posts I predicted the habs would make the playoffs and there was not a lot of support there.

That said, the habs have a very bright future and maybe a cup or 2. The team is great already and you still have some great prospects and picks. Stiff upper lip guys. You'll be back next year with a powerhouse.

GG everyone, now go rest and come back next season bigger, better and stronger with a vengence in mind.

Players I don't want to see no more in the Habs uniform:
  • Savard (too old, washed, thank god he's retiring)
  • Newhook (just bad overall, brings nothing to the table, except speed... stone hands)
  • Armia (too soft, waste of a roster spot)
  • Gallagher (too small, too expensive and too old)
  • Dvorak (ok veteran, but the Habs already have Evans doing the same thing)
  • Struble (nothing special, the new Jordan Harris, trade bait)
  • Dach (soft, injury prone, can't rely on)
  • Laine (he has to fix his body first, otherwise bye bye)

No shame in this season.

This team won their Stanley Cup by making the PO.
They left it all on the ice but this young team had no gas left in the tank and that was prior to the PO.

Would have love this series to go 6 or 7 games but for the young guy and management, there has been a lot of answers about where this team is at and what's missing to take the next step.

With all the picks, Cap space, prospect and NHLer.....should be a fun summer.

I disagree, we have plenty of elements to create something okish and be competitive. Even on the Defensive side, Mailloux could have played, Beck could have been used this series.

We could have split the 1st line and create 2 duos, immediately after the 1st game, we could have Put Demi on the first PP from the start. Laine should have been healthy scratch 2 weeks ago.

The coach simply lacked the courage to take action. This series could have been alot closer.

Mailloux is not NHL material.
