To me being up 2, the continued defensive meltdowns that show two things

They dont have the horses to play MSL system, his system sucks and poorly implemented or combination of the two

Its been all yr that they just dont get it. People can call it whatever it is but the players cant execute it and either you adjust strategy or players. Its everyone, the vets, known defensive players, almost everyone is being exposed

How many Hawks were left alone in front of the net last night, i bet you it was over 10 times?

I disagree. I like Guhle's heel turn and physical play lately. Adds another dimension to the defense. There's always risks with it of course, but missing the timing of a nice hit by a second or less sometimes is a small price to pay.

Marty seems like a great players coach and a smart guy. Good for development. But let's face it...he's a horrendous in-game manager.

Hockey is a heart game. While superstars can dazzle, the team will always win out.. a coach only has control of the way they play, otherwise it comes down to their belief on success.. just like private businesses, the right employees will make or break the business.

MSL is fine.. he makes his decisions based on percentages, which works in the long run, but always fails in the short run. Clearly he needs to check his ego; coaches are 7th or 8th on the necessity ladder..

Time to sit all vets who cant perform when it matters-

The players have no idea how to clear the grease or tie sticks, or pick up a puck around the rim (despite riming passes all the time). It's like the team do not practices a lots of the basic stuff. You can even see the players getting worst at certain things from season to season.

Only a slight misread by him. Half second too early from being a perfectly clean massive hit, that we all would have been praising him for.
I love that he’s bringing a physical game. Unfortunately laid into the guy too early and definitely deserved the penalty, but we had the whole damn game to bounce back from that. Can’t use it as an excuse

I guess my point it that when you are leading a game, and your team is kinda asleep, it isn't the right time for a big hit or a fight. Players make big hits of fights to wake their team up. Why wake up a sleepy team when you are up 2-0?

I'd say we have two franchise/gamebreaker players.
We would be nowhere near where we are without Hutson record breaking rookie season.
Hopefully a full season of him and Demidov will land more wins when one of them takes over when the other has an off night.

Don't know if this matters though. The refs called it no goal and Laine shot. That's how the rules work.

I'm not that upset about it because honestly, the guy did actually put it in the net and we never should've let it go to a shootout to begin with.

Fun fact: Ryan Greene who played his first NHL game vs the Habs, is Kent Hughes "son in law". He's dating his daughter.

Who will face the Caps is in the hands of the Habs and the B Jackets.
MSL and Hughes are going with the boys, the ones who carried this team with ups and downs all season. They didn't trade at tdl and sendt a message to the team : we beleive in you. So they will live or die with the boys. A new and better player will not take the place of vets (who were cold) in a SO situation. MSL is like a guy from the union, solidarity with the boys, he's a player's coach.
