Post-Game Talk: Habs lose Blackhawks in a Shootout. Fail to clinch Playoffs.

Your negativity stinks and you lack compassion for MSL.
You and I would also be good after game drinking homies

...I'm also fantastically bipolar...one of my best qualities... :biglaugh:

main issue we have is our inability to break the cycle in our own zone, costing us alot of energy and confidence. Second is the turnovers all over the ice because of poor collective positionning, lack of passing options in part due to a bad break out structure. Makes for very ungly hockey, Chicago looked like seasoned vets moving the puck tonight. Hoping its a coachable problem, if its a talent issue we're not solving it in one summer..

Bright side is Columbus can't falter and absolutely needs to win both games in regulation. And Habs still have one game which they only need to tie for 60 minutes, which they've done the last two games.

It very much looked like the same Demidov we saw in the KHL. Great hands, great vision, smooth skater, good positioning and a good read. Doesn't hesitate when he has the puck. I think he would've competed for the Calder this season had he not have a contract in the KHL.

Future is bright, stop complaining.

If reinbacher doesn’t pan out we are hooped. They passed on a lot of talent for that kid

Your really going to go after the rookie at his very first game? The guy that scored a goal and an assist and who was the most electric player on the ice tonight? Really? What is wrong with you? There are so many other veteran players Ide go after before Demidov. You want objectivity? Put that on the vets that failed tonight. Not on a guy that just got here from Russia who is still learning the game the habs play.

What is wrong with me?...lol

Give your head a shake, I am as excited as anyone about this kid but he literally quit on the play. I am just pointing it out,no need to start bawling and throwing your toys.

What is wrong with the truth? people who do not acknowledge the truth is exactly what is wrong with absolutely everything nowadays. Go ahead and duck your head in the sand and only see and believe the things that you want to be true.

You ask what is wrong with me???? More people like me are desperately needed to pull the blindfold off of the rest of the world. This may only be hockey but your behaviour and reaction to facts that you do not like is what is wrong and that is a you problem. So if you do not like the truth then I suggest that you avoid my posts as you are going to be very upset.

Habs playoffs odds now at 93.2% but it feel lower than that
I don't buy into the money puck odds either. I'd say Carolina has close to a 70% chance to beat us in regulation, and I'd give Columbus similar odds in their 2 remaining games. That'd put Columbus at a 34% chance to make it.

That hit was early enough in the game that it shouldn't have mattered for a good team. (spoiler: they aren't good).
PK was horrible, and none of then goals against were even quality shots.
Can't argue with those points but could have let the Hawks sleep through a road game late in the year, running over a rookie in his first NHL game is a rallying point and gives meaning to them getting the win in a otherwise meaningless game

It probably woke the Hawks up. Stupid to throw any big hit (other than in retaliation) on a team that has no reason to care about the game. Just as it is moronic to accept a fight when you are ahead in a game.

That goal against had nothing to do with our system. The kid knew he was the last man back and forced a shot. It's fine. He's a teenager and will learn. You could see he felt bad about it. He is an unreal talent. Incredible offensive mind.

Thank you for being the adult in the room. This place is truly pathetic.

I like the way you think.

Thanks for the kind words.

I actually manage high level hockey teams for a living. And I can say that the challenges that are associated in that endeavour have led me to drink on no few occasions.

But I stand by what I said earlier: I really don't care that much if we make the playoffs this year. My focus was on Demidov.

Let me ask everyone here a simple question: would you rather have had the team squeak out a win tonight but have watched Demidov play a mediocre game? Or have watched a tired team lose, but have seen a Demidov who displayed dazzling talent/potential?

Something to cheer us up, if we had Demidov in the lineup all year we would have spent the last 7-8 games debating about who do we rest, when and for how long..

Columbus has literally no other choice than to win both games in regulation or it's over, and even then despite the two wins, could still finish 2 points behind the Habs.

Their error margin is zero. Their next game is in Philly and the Flyers have had the upper hand on them so far this season.

Team's exhausted, not much he can do about that. They had to push like mad men because of how terrible were in october/november.

There's an element of that, but what I saw against chicago is a very young team feeling the pressure.

I was hoping they would stay naive enough to not let it become a factor, but here we are.

Obviously the win....what kind of backwards fan are you? Demidov will be great regardless of how his initial performance went. If you can't see the value in making the playoffs then I am sorry but you just don't get it.
