Post-Game Talk: Habs lose 6-4 to Flyers

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Dobes just isn't ready. Primeau f***ed up the plans.
Dobes was fine for a bunch of games, then they didn’t play him for weeks and brought him in to face a Flyers team that just got rid of Torts. Trying to be in the mix is fine, but the team is probably just able to do that when everybody is healthy and they get a few bounces. Playing the main goalie a bunch of games or letting people play hurt is not worth it.

I wouldn't even consider St Louis winning much if an upset considering they've been the best team in the league for two months...

So yeah, what the two teams are matters, but even then, we do occasionally upsets.

Frankly, I'm not terribly sold on the Caps come playoffs, despite how good they've been in the regular season. They strike me as the type of #1 ripe for an upset.
If we get goaltending I can definitely see us upsetting a team like the caps. Good goalie is the prerequisite for a series upset. Can't remember last time a 8th seed team won without it.

Unfortunately montembault is not that guy.

It's not a matter of goalies. Habs give silverplate occasions to score for opposite team and they berely have shots on the other net. Having a top goalie would be losses anyway. Habs have at least from 6 to 8 deadwood in their line-up. They are subpar nhlers who should be changed for better and in better shape.

This is how Habs are right now. Tired, washed-up and clearly the end of the toilet roller paper.

Sure. That's not the point I was discussing.

I was with you until Sweeney bro. Now that's overpayment.

But seriously. I do miss the days we had someone at the point capable of dishes bombs (sniff souray). Having that weapon is a huge deal. Opens up the space for the forwards.

I've also been advocating for a long time that D >> forwards. A perfect example of that is the year the oilers went to the cup finals with Pronger. Look at the roster. It's a amazing what a #1 D can do for your team.

Don't worry bro, she's with me.

Woke up pissed off from yesterday's game. I'm not going to watch tonight, too much emotion and disappointment lately.

Disgusting f***ing game, Lane Hutson is by far our best player and he's a f***ing rookie. If it wasn't for him, we'd be below Buffalo this season.

Our fourth line of Heineman - Evans - Armia... absolutely insignificant. Scratch Armia if he's playing injured for f***'s sake. Where the f*** is Heineman?

Matheson? The hell is he doing out there fumbling the puck so f***ing much. I guess you got to take the good and the bad with him, but what a f***ing game to piss off multiple times.

So many shots sponsored by NASA and SpaceX last game, you'd think Scott Gomez was training our players. Josh Anderson is culprit #1 or #2 in this department, plus his f***ing stupid and selfish penalty to make it a 5 on 3. You dumb. Just embarrassing to lose to the Flyers in that fashion, beyond angry this morning.

Carolina tonight will be a shit show, seriously what can you realistically expect from the current play of this team.

Our fourth line is f***ing useless. Armia seems to be injured. Evans is SOOOOOOFFF. Heinaman has not been the same since he returned form injuries. Put Jack on the fourth line when Ghule returns and crash some skulls.

I guess my point reverts to the trade deadline, and Kent Hughes not making any moves. As a fan, it stings and sucks, but I do understand if Habs management took this decision to see whether the team "sinks or swims."

If the team fails to make the playoffs, HuGo will have the ammo and arguments to make roster moves, and play with the "chemistry" of the team and players. Fine... I'm not sure if this was the ideal route to take.
Look let’s be honest , we finally have a management that sees things as they are and not with technicolor glasses .
Team over performed , they deserved a carrot , but sure did not deserve to let go of future assets to add . As we ain’t going far , and not selling was enough to gain valuable experience .
Even in these bad times , the key guys are learning , they will learn that you can’t let go easy points earlier , they will learn that you have to start games on time otherwise you will spend more energy and thus find your self with 10 games left and the tank in empty .
I like most here want a playoff stop but I also know we got so much more then was expected from this team.
We adding the best talent out of tbe nhl next year , let’s see what that team does
