Post-Game Talk: Habs lose 6-4 to Flyers

How so? Standing show Habs are 1pt ahead of NYI & NYR holding 2nd wildcard spot … they have pole position still
How so ? I told you. When they are in a wild card spot they start to play terribly bad. This is the 2nd time they start a losing streak right after they reached wc2.

Don't get me wrong I hope they make it and if they don't I won't be mad . I enjoyed this season more than the last 2 for sure.

...too reliant on too few players, who are running out of juice...too reliant on a coach who can't prepare the team like he prepared himself as a player...we're not ready, unfortunately...on the right path, but not there yet...
I keep reading this, but a lot of the blame for these slow starts should be thrown on the players themselves. As the game goes on, it seems they play better. Does MSL make adjustments to compensate for their play early in the game. Or is it the players themselves, who start playing more desperately, once they fall behind.

These are professionals. If they need a coach to motivate them. Management might want to take a closer look at the players the draft or trade for.

Can you imagine how dominant Hutson will become with a bit more experience, quickness and strength?
Yeah he needs to get stronger it cost us a goal on a set play. He got outmuscled on a draw that should have been an easy win. He was pissed at himself after the fact but we need to do a better job helping him out in those situations. As much as I hate Caufield on the boards on Suzuki's strong side I'd prefer Hutson on his strong side in that instance. I find Suzuki has done a very good job recently tying up the drawa at the very least we need more winger or Dmen wins in that situation.

I disagree. Any of our D, not named Hutson. Would be ripped by our fanbase for not being able to handle the type of minutes that Matheson does. As for X, I have no idea why he only played 10 mins. I didn't notice him doing anything to deserve that.

Again the defense as a whole *Not including Hutson*, did not play well. Since MSL can't sit all of them at the same time. I guess he decided to sit X.
We'll agree to disagree. The four D's I mentioned earlier were giveaway machines tonight so, who pays the price? Of course X. Other than X, Slaf and Laine once, nobody else is held accountable for their mistakes.
That's why I say the midget has to go. He's toxic, stubborn and frankly, not very good.

...it's Preparation as much as anything; a coach's job is to prepare the team for what's upcoming and Marty doesn't seem to be able to do that...he can't adjust worth a shyte...he has ONE way to coach the team and cannot deviate from it no matter how the game is going...

Who do you think would get this team to win more games?

...the ONLY one's he sits are Jackeye and Struble...Methhead can give the puck away 20 times a night and he gets nothing but praise from Marty...FatAss hasn't been an NHL defenseman in almost two years now and he still waddles his Grimace arse out there without fear of being sat...Marty is the first one who needs to go, imo...
Maybe M&M has unflattering pics of MSL ;)

Most coaches are like that. They give the older players a longer rope. While punishing players like Jackeye and Struble for much smaller things. So it's not a MSL thing, I think it's more a coaching thing.

Clueless post

Hughes wanted the Habs to be in the mix and play some meaningful games down the stretch this season and they've accomplished that so even if they do miss the playoffs, and they likely will, this will still very likely be considered a successful season by Hughes and management.

Just watching Hutson this season was well worth the price of admission. The guy is a play driver and a difference maker out there and when you add in guys like Demidov and Reinbacher coming there's gonna be some very good times ahead for this team it seems.

Fair enough, I'm not always right lol

I agree, none of those 4 played well. So why he chose X, I have no idea. In fairness, nobody really played well tonight. (Not including Hutson). So you can't sit everyone. There have been times where MSL has sat veterans, Laine being one off the top of my head. The players love MSL, if he's fired, there would be a mutiny. Which is why I'd suggest the team added an experienced assistant coach. People will laugh or think I'm drunk. But if I'm Hughes, I'm on the phone to Torts right now.

...luv the Torts idea, actually...he holds EVERYONE accountable...

Gally is about to get a big fine. Trashing the refs is one thing but calling out and pretty much asking for the people making the calls in Toronto to get fired is another level haha. Good on him though, it's not like he gets any calls going his way anyways

I agree with @LaP and @SuzukiSZN, the team is exhausted and not very good on paper, the 1st line cant do it all every nights, the 2nd line isnt working, Evans and Heineman arent playing great hockey lately, Anderson, Armia are banged up ect. But we are still in the mix and we still could end up making the playoffs, other teams in the race arent playing good hockey either.

If we clinch a playoffs spot without Dach, thats basically a miracle to me. I dont think MSL deserves to be bashed, he told everyone at the begin of the season that he wanted to be in the mix, here we are with a pretty average and banged up line-up...
