Post-Game Talk: Habs lose 6-4 to Flyers

Yep, we're on a 4 game loss streak now and a 7 game streak looks fairly likely.

But then again with the way this season's been going, this is where we'll string together a 3 win streak out of the blue lol.

I mean with how garbage everyone is around us, we could go on a 7 game losing streak and somehow come out ahead lol.

I assume we lose tomorrow, but there's a gut feeling we win against Florida. Feel like teams do well on the last game of road trips...

I rarely complain about our coaching, but this was just brutal.
Favoritism of Matheson is simply blatant stupidity and pure sabotaging of any effort!
The thing is Matheson has never been great at keeping plays alive on his strong side what makes the staff think he'll be any better on his weak side. I swear David Savard would do a better job.

A complete joke of a game by Montreal. Everyone was bad, but special mention to Matheson for freely giving the puck to Michkov whenever possible. I know people wanted to draft him, but he's NOT on our team.

Struble struggled with the puck. Savard was useless. Xhekaj barely played. The only good D was Hutson. Poor Carrier saddled with Matheson must be praying Guhle is back tomorrow.

Forwards all sucked. No energy.

Dobes isn't an NHL goalie, at least not yet.

Also, do the Flyers just f***ing hate Cam York? Did he piss in someone's water? Bang the coaches wife? Why dress him then not play him? Torts pretty much did that last game too (3 minutes), but Shaw just didn't bother with him at all. Weird.

...damn, amigo; odd to see you this fired up...yeah, we sucked, but that has as much to do with preparation, imo, as play...Marty's Party should be over after this season, imo...

I also think that Slaf has been playing fine.
The problem is that CC has been sh!t last 5 games, losing every puck battle, missing the net, poor passing.
Suzi hasnt been great either imho.

We got 2 great sequences that brought us either close or in a wild card spot. Both times we started to lose at that moment. Basically when the team starts to play more meaningful games they start to lose. They are not yet ready.
Ready for what?

Management has consistently stated rhe goal this year is to play meaningful games into April… that’s what we’re witnessing … mission accomplished anything additional is a bonus

Sliiiiddddeeeee

And April has a crazy schedule. Habs need to hope all the other team are bad just as they are. I think NYI is taking WC2 soon.

No team serious about being a playoff team can have Matheson as your supposed anchor on defense.

You cant have someone who plays 25 minutes play it so reckless. He is just like a guy like Monty, you cant expect to play him 55 games and get the consistency you need
What was this seasons consistently stated objective?

Savard is finished. Kaput. He's absolutely horrendous. My first reflex is to replace Struble when Ghule comes back, but Savard's been really awful aside from blocking a few shots here and there. We won’t win anything with this defense. We got a few Matheson specials tonight again...

Dobes was bad. Guy needs to play regularly. It's night and day vs. the confident guy that came up from the AHL. I love the kid's fight, but he's so erratic in his net.

Evans and the whole 4th line have been useless for the last 5 games. I think Armia's injured. Heineman hasn't been the same since coming back from injury, and Evans has been putrid since 4-Nations.

I do not understand why they do everything they can to make that obstruction rule so complicated. If an opponent touches the goalie no matter how small it is, the goalie is in the paint, the opponent player is in the paint AND wasn't pushed...IT'S NO GOAL. That would be so simple. The whole ''Well it didn't impede him in his movement, is so f***ed up....

If the goalie is OUT of the paint, you make the goalie as if he's just another player. If you wouldn't punish the contact on a D, you don't punish it on the goalie.
