Its amazing how the second line is playing with more intensity and aggressiveness without Nylander. Taveras seems to have more zip, and playing more in the center of the ice. He's not in the corners as much, his wingers are in there digging the puck out.

I’m not a huge fan of the call but I guess you can argue that even though he got the puck, Perry was still impeded and could have set up an odd man rush the other way.

I wouldn't say "by far". It really sells a guy like Sundin short who is the best Leaf I have ever seen, up until now. You can't tell me Matthews is way better than him. I don't agree with that at all.

Honestly the refing has been average tonight - that call was always going to be made by any ref.

He got pucks that's a garbage "game management" call

That gets called 90% of the time, in any situation. Got the puck a fraction of a second before the puck, on a fairly wild stick swing. Like it, or not, the refs are going to call that a lot.
