It hasn’t happened yet, but the belief among all insiders and those who track the cap is that’s what the leafs are making room for.

If we send down Simmonds, we’ll have enough to sign Knies but he won’t get performance bonuses.

I think it’s all but a done deal. I don’t think the leafs risk this cap gymnastics if there isn’t a contract in place already.
