Yes, they would not be scoring 200 points in this era. The goalies are too good, teams are way better defensively, players also don’t stay out for 3 minute plus shifts.

I think they would be on par with McDavid, slightly better. But most definitely not getting 200 points a season in the modern era.

Lol no they wouldn’t. The goalies back in the day were literal trash.

That being said what they did is incredible, it takes a lot of skill to put up those numbers.

But let’s call a spade a spade, in this era They would be in the 100-150 point range. Maybe even less, not sure they have the speed of McDavid.

Martin Broduer and Patrick Roy were both goalies while Gretzky was playing, in his last two years age 37 and 38 year he put up 152 points in 152 games. Don't tell me in his prime he wouldn't have absolutely desecrated McDavids numbers and at the VERY least have the same.

Wayne had a 97 pts season when he was 37 yrs old. Mario had a 1.77PPG season when he was 35. Both years were in the dead puck era when all the obstructions holdings and huge goalie equipments dominated the game.

I doubt McDavid will be anywhere as good when he reaches mid-30s.

Trash? It's wrong, lots of great athletic goalies, look at the Vezina winners through the 80s and 90s, lots of different names who had real good numbers
