A PTO / AHL Leafs team basically beat Ottawa's NHL team, so preseason, take it for what it is worth.

to be fair. I think there are several worse teams than Ottawa. Most notably Arizona & Buffalo

If Ottawa's goaltending is just League average, I think Ottawa is fighting for 8th to 10th in the East. They are better than some think.

No, but I'd rather Dahlstrom just be cut at this point.

It’s pre-season. The goal is to warm up and cut players and we usually only play with nearby teams. There’s also this covid factor which may or may not be in play.

Now that you say it, this is BS. Why do the champs get to face real playoff caliber contenders and meanwhile the habs have to play teams that either can’t make the playoffs or win a round.

Prior to his wrist injury he was actually on a line with JT and Nylander and looked good. It also takes a lot of time for such a freak injury like he had to fully recover. Not a bad thing to take a look at that line again especially during pre-season to see if it can help spark something in Mikheyev’s offensive game…

However, I mentioned this in another thread but due to his previous trade request, I’d look to package Mikheyev along with Dermott for a slight up grade on the blue line.

He’s been good, the only thing missing is finishing chances. Maybe we will see tonight. If we had bad luck and injuries through camp to our centres (and who knows of Matthews is going to be ready opening night) Semyonov would be my pick for a centre spot.
