Leafs fan but as a Canadian it was great to see Suzuki, Dach, and Guhle looking like they could be real core pieces going forward. Will be watching those guys closely this year!

Nothing washes down a win against the leafs like the cope and crying by Sportsnet. It is looking like the Leafs aren’t the greatest team ever assembled after all. Lol

"this is the year"... off to a great start, losing to a team with 2 rookies and a waiver wire add eating up the top 4 minutes and shutting down their potent offense.

& best of all, the coaching job by MSL. Yeah it's only 1 game. Yeah the emotions were high. But to have a roster so full of rookies, misfits, castoffs, and young guys still a few years away from their prime, and have them play such a solid opener against a cup contending bitter rival, is pretty fantastic.
This year will be long. Will have lots of down moments and phases, but damn is it nice to feel legitimately excited and confident about the direction and future after years of the foxhole dead end.

Guhle played 22:36 in his first NHL game, not bad !
Going to repeat...for a first game and probably with just 1 practice under his belt.
Kovacevic was *very* good...poked checked the puck several times on leafs zone entries, he was physical and except for few bobbles and a bad pinch at the end, had a great debut.
Good find by the pro scouting team.
