Not Russia’s fault the way IIHF is motivated by politics and not the sport itself
Russia getting bounced in the quarterfinals in Sochi or having fewer WJC golds than Finland over the last 20 years is down to politics?
When did I say otherwise? He seems pleasant. Is he a bad coach and GM? Probably, but he seems more pleasant than most NHL GM’s.
Dude, this is a PR video. Anyone can be nice for a visit of renowned foreign guests and even more so for a short PR video during that time. It's like you can tell everyone hockey players are the bestest people there is, as the PR cliche goes. It doesn't have to be true.

Russia definitely lacking golds but it’s got more medals than any other nation since 2006
That's what I said: "relying on the other team's best players not to be there to win anything". I don't want to go through a case-by-case basis here but even that one year you won gold Canada was missing Hall, Duchene, O'Reilly, Skinner, Seguin, etc. Just like in the WC, you have a far bigger share of your top-end talent simply being there due to the financial and cultural factors.

The Russiaphobia in parts of this thread is astounding.
The regular culprits just cant help themselves.
These posters are like insects attracted to light.

Anyways, SKA does have amazing facilities and development system. Unfortunately things can go sideways quickly when players get directly under the coaching of the clown Rotenberg.

It irks me every time I see Lecavalier as part of the Habs organization. Gainey had agreed to a trade bringing him to Montreal, and he refused to go...

Hughes' big break as an agent was landing Lecavalier, hence why he's in Montreal. Lecavalier is his advisor, what the heck does he advise???

Tired of Hughes bringing over ex-clients, Newhook is another prime example, terrible trade and reward him with a juicy contract....
