Think it's more a way to show the younger kids how they have to compete in camp from a veteran. Besides him, not many vets in camp as forwards. Byron is the oldest at 29 and he has a roster spot. Like it only as motivator but rather give a youngster the spot.
I guess you raise a good point that our roster is pretty young and we don't have that many vets or guys seen as huge leaders with Weber out too.

No. It'll be long, agonizing and extremely frustrating season that you'll want to forget but won't.
The best way to forget it is to have nothing to forget in the first place. Just don't watch it the first time and you'll never have to relive it. Pretend there's another lock-out. Take the season off. Trust me, you're not missing a thing.

Why?

We already have an abundance of wingers.

Tatar - Galagher
Domi - Armia
Byron - Lehkonen
Hudon - Shaw
DLo - Scherbak
McCarron

I don't see the Habs offering a contract to Ward unless it is to play for the Rocket.

There is probably a trade that will happen and the forward core is really young.

Always liked Ward, wished Habs would have made a move for him 5 years ago... but now? I fail to see the point. Unless... Bergevin trades Shawful (TM @WeThreeKings) as soon as he's healthy? Please please pleasepleasepleeeeeezzzzz :vhappy:

I don't like this. MB should give a chance to our young players.

Ward can help the kids during the Camp + He can showcase himself and get a contract elsewhere after the camp.

I doubt strongly that they gonna give Ward a contract. But IF they do, it is to become #14 forward or help the kids in Laval.

you know by now thats not the way this organization works,

if that was the case, there wouldn't be any point in bringing plecky back,

its veterans or bust around here

Other than the obvious Byron, who do you think is another possibility? Scherbak?

It could also be Lehkonen, Hudon or DLR.... or even Tatar !!!!

Package any of them with one of our actual d-men for a top-four d-man (young) or a middle-six centerman

I am more puzzled by the signing of Peca than by the invitation to Ward.

Peca is exactly WHAT the Habs don't need really.
