When you checked, were you surprised that he had that many?Slaf still got 5 hits. Most on the team.
No, he was pretty engaged. He set up Caufield and Suzuki 2-3 times for great chances also. When you checked, were you surprised that he had that many?
I'm not saying he had a bad game, I thought he played fine. I noticed a couple of his hits too, but wouldn't of guessed 5.No, he was pretty engaged. He set up Caufield and Suzuki 2-3 times for great chances also.
It’s just not realistic to think a player will be 110% physical, in every aspects, every single game. Especially not youngsters.
Rangers are 1 point back and have a game in hand (they hold the tiebreaker too), Flyers are 1 point back but we have a game in hand, and the Islanders are 2 points back with a game in hand (and can beat us on the tie breaker). 7 teams right next to each other are competing for 1 spot. Last year, the final wildcard spot had 91 points. We need to go 14-8 to get to 91 points (and will likely need at least one more point due to tiebreakers), and the Wings need to go 12-9-1.Also, Columbus did everyone a favor by sweeping the home & home with Detroit. We're 3 points out of a playoff spot now & there's no longer 5 teams ahead of us. It's down to 3: Boston, Ottawa & Detroit.
At this time of the season, getting 2pts for a win is all that matters - which highlights even more importance of “playing meaningful games”…That was not a masterpiece.
I thought the team played a strong road game. I particularly thought that Matheson had a very effective game as he flashed his superior mobility, was very steady in his defensive zone and, except for two icings late in the game, made smart plays with the puck. To me, the turning point in the game were the multiple 4 on 4 situations when MSL had both Matheson and Hutson on the ice at the same time. Those two mobile and highly skilled defencemen gave Montreal a huge edge as the Canadiens were able to control the puck for extended periods and the Sabres had no answer. It was impressive to watch .Great game. Just got home. Really nothing to nit pick. Laine is slow, but I already knew that. Thought Struble played well. Lane was feisty on D and usually interrupted scoring chances for the other team. Armia looked engaged and played okay.
On Buffalo. Cozens and Kulich stood out. I'd go for Cozens if he was available. Tons of speed.
Unfortunately, he can take care of himself. Neither Xhekaj nor Anderson will be able to inflict any pain.Greenway needs a serious beating on Monday.
Great recovery after a not so hot start for Dobes. Ditto the rest of the team.
Lane Hutson is the most creative defenseman we’ve had in a very very long time. It’s crazy that he’s about 40 points better than the next rookie defenseman this year. If we find the right partner for him on the right side, and he’s able to work on his shot, the sky is the limit for this young man.
I reiterate that Mr Greenway needs to eat a few solid knuckles after that display tonight. Sabres plan was to obviously try to rough up Dobes physically and it backfired. Dobes chirping at Greenway after Struble flattened him into the boards was awesome. Fat David lumbering over and doing nothing was not…
Huge win.
Greenway can't fight for shit.Unfortunately, he can take care of himself. Neither Xhekaj nor Anderson will be able to inflict any pain.
Greenway doesn’t impress me. Yeah, hes a big guy but he won’t help out enforcing on the ice. I think he only had 15 minutes of penalty time going into last nights game.Greenway is UFA this season. I have actually been looking at him as a possible signing. However, guy finishing a $9M , 3 year deal. Thats a lot of AAV and he will want more. So maybe not.
I checked out two of his fights…he held on not really throwing any. Both were against big guys though…Wilson and Brady.Greenway can't fight for shit.
Well, I don’t know about that. Watched his latest tilts and he got smoked by some. McDermid just killed him. And he didn’t really want to engage with Brady.Unfortunately, he can take care of himself. Neither Xhekaj nor Anderson will be able to inflict any pain.
I noticed him creating offensive chances off the cycle last night. That impressed me.Greenway doesn’t impress me. Yeah, hes a big guy but he won’t help out enforcing on the ice. I think he only had 15 minutes of penalty time going into last nights game.

Just in time to get scouted.I don't like the guy but his last 10 games have probably been the best Dvorak has looked in this uniform.
MSL will go back to Monty...........but Dobes needs to get in a few games as we roll along on the upcoming roadtrip. So who gets the nod on Monday? Dobes or Monty?

Maybe it’s just me, but Dobes inspires little confidence when I watch him play. He’s unorthodox, he’s clumsy and is flopping around in the crease, at times he even has his back to the play, he has trouble locating and tracking the puck in close and he can’t catch a puck worth a damn.MSL will go back to Monty...........but Dobes needs to get in a few games as we roll along on the upcoming roadtrip.
How true...........Fowler will be THE goalie very soon............I have zero faith in Monty also, and also has trouble tracking the puck, think it was the last game the 1st goal he let in, he looked the wrong way behind the net....Maybe it’s just me, but Dobes inspires little confidence when I watch him play. Fowler can’t get here fast enough.
