Post-Game Talk: Habs defeat the Red Wings. Solidify WC2 lead.

Habs haven't given up more than 2 goals in a game during this 6 game win streak. Montembeault has just been incredible.

Where are all the experts that knew MSL was overplaying him...

The peanut gallery loves piling on whenever things are tough, but seem oddly slow to praise or eat crow when their hot takes prove completely false.

Such a great time to be a Habs fan, haven't had an organisation this on point since the late 80's

Huge respect to Habs for digging deep and finding a way to win. They are clearly tired 5 games in 8 days. NHL is so frustrating with its scheduling. So proud of this team and more than anything just finding ways to get the job done. Time to pour a whiskey!!!

No legs tonight. We were lucky to win that. Against a team like Toronto, Tampa, Caps or any other top team, our first period effort would of cost us 3 to 5 goals. We need to fix how we start games. We often play bad first periods and during the playoffs, thats not a good thing.

We had a lot more energy than we had in Nashville FWIW. No game until Friday will help.

The way this team wins feel inevitable, they are half asleep in the first and just crawl out but then they slowly roll over the other team every game. What a wild season this has been, everyone is contributing in some way. I am happy to see Pezzetta has returned to game form.

No matter what happens.....playoffs or not...and even if we make it and lose in the first or second round....the end result of this season is still gonna be a big success.

The team took a huge step and has shown they they won't give up. The base to build a winner is there. And then add Demidov and Reinbacher to this....

We're going places guys. And even when we made the playoffs under Bergevin it still felt....not sure how to say that so i'll say not as organic as it does this year.

We're going places. And props to MSL. A rookie coach who was able to infuse his horse work ethic to a team.

Serieux chapeau

It seems like we have some plot armor going on this season.
  • Team was expected to be a bottom feeder and we had horrible stretches and fantastic stretches, and ultimately manage to squeak into the playoffs through all the tribulations.
  • Hutson the undersized defenseman was supposed to struggle adapting to the NHL yet he's thriving and putting up a historic rookie season.
  • Nick #2 C Suzuki on pace for a 90 point season.
  • Demidov, our FIFTH overall selection goes back to Russia and puts up a historic season. Then instead of being held till June he get's released.
Either everything's going to come crashing back down to earth soon, or our Cinderella run ends with us at the ball
Now you know how "we" felt in the 80s, when St. Patrick burst on to the scene.

Im happy for this gen to finally get that CH feeling.. next decade is going to be a hell of a ride!
