So I'm way late lol
But going to that game, *ended up* being a total blast lol
But man i was stewing in my seat at 3-4 lol , grumbling we BETTER tie this freaking game mannn

Slafs goal was HUGE, and timely and man the place went nuts, we really needed it, couldnt believe we came back from a goal down FOUR times

The Xhekaj fight, wow, TWO seconds into the fight, the DJ BLASTS X gon give it to ya, i couldnt believe it lol, you would think the DJ would wait til after the fight but its playing WHILE he feeds Rempe his lunch
It was wild, we gave him a HUGE Ovation, he definitely felt it

Couldnt understand the player deployment in OT, 1 minute goes by no Laine, 2 minutes go by, no Laine, it took over 3 minutes to finally get Laine on the ice
I had a GREEEAAT view of the Guhle give and go and when Laine scored man, wow
Complete eruption

The back to back Dobes saves in OT were WOW , again lol the place went BONKERS , huge price like ovation for him for those saves, you could tell the cheers were for more than that too, we were acknowledging his 4 big road wins too (couldnt believe i was watching Dobes have his "clunker" game lol but STILL won)

Hadn't enjoyed a game like that live in QUITE a while wow, you could tell the game meant something, the buzz in the crowd was amazing

Seats werent even that GOOD lol but they were free and we had a blast and thankful the boys pulled it off

Great great win, was super fun
Nothing better, than attending a game at the BC and the Habs getting an OT Win !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad the boys pulled er out for ya!!

It was cheap for Rempe to just start throwing jumps before Arber could even react. Despite that advantage he ended up getting taken down anyways. Considering he doesn't provide much else and isn't a great fighter, you do wonder how much longer he'll be in the NHL

Xhekaj did say that Rempe apologized to him for jumping him early. I think the kid just feels the pressure to get a fight going every match, or he'll be on the chopping block. Probably didn't want to be brushed off like Reaves was in the previous match.

Obviously Xhekaj adds a lot more value to his team so he can't really afford to fight all these goons, unless they're willing to take the extra 2.

Is Newhook still useless
I cant lie lol i thought watching it live that more than a few Habs just "didn't really have it" last night

But i thought Newhook actually had a solid game (and the 4th line too), he was everywhere but couldn't FINISH god lol
and as others have said, Laine had a rough one a bit but still scores the GWG lol
5 seconds before his goal i yelled out loud "time to end this Patrik!" and man he did not disappoint

TONS of Rangers fans tho, i was a little surprised lol

My son was literally born yesterday, and got to see his first Habs win tonight! What a game! 4 separate comebacks? This team is young, and they make mistakes, but they seem to be learning VERY quickly.
Congrats sir, you'll look back on that post and realise you've just described your son's childhood. All the best!

I’m confident for our goaltending going forward. But it’s going to be a blood feud between Dobes, Monty and Fowler. May the best man win. And for those that are looking down on Monty because he was picked on waivers, don’t forget unlike skaters, teams constantly misjudge goalies, that’s why so many all-star goalies have been picked up on waivers. Bryzgalov, Nabokov off the top of my mind. I could find a couple more with a quick google search.
Fowler is still 2-3 years away from NHL. In the meantime, let’s hope te Monty-Dobes combo will hold the fort well.

In the Bos-Sens game Saturday, almost half of the lower sections at the CT Center were occupied by Boston’s fans, many from the US.

Funny enough, if you asked me gping in if I'd take 2 points of this weekend I'd say yes. To think we were relatively close to a perfect weekend had Woll not been good or we imploded defensively in the 3rd.
I think it was Carrier who said we took 2 of 3 which was our goal.

Fighting Rempe is dumb. You want him on the ice showing why he shouldn’t be in the nhl, not in the penalty box opposite someone you want playing for you.
Not really, Slaf said that fight really rev'd him up and it's why he played so physical that game. I'm sure it woke up the rest of the team too.

He is playing his best hockey, but if there’s such thing as a “finishing” coach he needs that yesterday.
He should invite Dr. Shot to become his roommate.

He saved our bacon in OT but was having a hard time during the game which is normal for a young goalie. I am very grateful that he is 5-0 but I am okay with rotating both goalies, for now at least.
It's clear to me that, at this stage, there is no G controversy, even if Montembeault -- who never played so many games in a season -- might need to play less games as the season winds down.

Being able to rely on a G that at least keeps you in the game like Dobes (VS Primeau) and keeps the players in front of him confident to play their own game is a good thing, even if the sample size is still small.

I'd be fine with a platoon system until the end of the season. Build on internal COMPETITION and let the winner hold the fort until he loses. The eager beaver jumping in would serve to help cut short any losing streaks.

Hopefully not for too long. Enough to properly evaluate him, as a reward for his good play in Laval. Then they should send up Davidson for the same gesture, he's been playing well too.
In a worst case scenario, Beck will become a great 4th line C. We have Kapanen and Hage as potential 3rd line Cs in the system and, maybe, whomever we pick in 2025.

I didn’t see the game and the recaps said “they were looking for each other all night” as opposed to “the really tall guy who doesn’t play at an nhl level jumped the guy who can play to get off the ice because every second his skates touch the ice makes his team less likely to win.”
