Management build something very special with this team.

In the mix after 3 years of great tanking, that's a very good news for me. I don't want to be the new Buffalo Sabres. We have a lot of talent right now (Caufield, Laine, Suzuki, Slafkovsky, Dach, Hutson, Guhle and Dobes), Xhekaj is a beast and we have such great talent still coming with Demidov, Hage, Reinbacher and Fowler. (++ good players with the rest and the picks in 2025 draft).

Great time to be Habs fan!!

Buffalo traded Eichel and Reinhart at the beginning of their prime. I doubt our management gonna trade Suzuki and Caufield vs picks and a bunch of player..

Rempe getting lit up, after getting in 3-4 sucker punches first, was bad but then being tossed like a Costco worker piling bags of produce? embarrassing.

Great ot by Dobes, he is clutch man!!

Yes, absolutely clutch. Dobes I thought looked mostly pedestrian last night but he came up with the saves that allowed us a chance for not just one, but two points.

The Tilt.........was a big moment for The Sherriff !!!! He will soon, be the guy no one wants to bother.
This kid is really playing some good hockey ( gave up the puck causing a goal last night ) albeit not mistake free, but he has been solid, and the fight was awesome! We didn't see a lot of Rempe after that.

All heil The Sherriff !!

Those two wanted out. I think the Habs have created a culture that players want to be a part of.
Let's hope those are the types of guys, we can attract to Montreal, not drive away.
HuGo are doing a great job of creating a winning culture.

Don’t throw rocks at me saying this, but I don’t think DOBES had a bad game at all. Sure they scored 4 goals, but look at each goal and ask yourself, was he primarily at fault?

Goal 1…..bad bounce off back boards back in front of the net.
Goal 2….AX made a bad pass that allowed the Ranger player to walk in and get off a good shot.
Goal 3…..Kreider with a great screen that allowed the shot to find net.
Goal 4…..Kreider gets a pass right in front of Dobes with no d help at all. Kreider all alone, untouched.

I admit, I have a man crush on DOBES, but other than goal 3 with the screen, the other 3 can not be put on him. Therefore, I consider this another great game, or if you can’t agree with that adjective, would you agree with “good”? And don’t forget, he blanked the Rangers in the 3rd allowing us to tie the game and then especially in OT….we all saw those two saves.

So what do you say?
I would not say great. I would say decent or to use your adjective good.

EDIT: Reading some of the comments, I would say the best word is "CLUTCH".

Dobby their best goalie already?.
He looked human last night but came up huge in the OT. He has been dynamite on the road but was probably fighting the jitters playing in front of the home crowd last night. He resembles one of our old legends in the net. I can't help seeing a modern version of Ken Dryden when he plays. This is not to suggest he will have that sort of career, but it's just a bit of the old-timer coming out of me when I see him play.

His father was in the stands. He hasn't seen his father in a year and half at all. He was extremely nervous last night for more than one reason.

In the tying goal, Caufield received the puck from Hutson right in the slot. He saw Quick cheated and moved to one side. He knew he couldn't beat Quick with his shot and the best option is to make a pass to Slaf coming from the other side for an empty net shot. Caufield is no longer uni dimensional shooter. He is a complete player now.
That's one example. I lost count of how many times he rushed back to annul Ranger's odd-man rushes. I would say probably as many times as Suzuki. Playing with Slick Nikk has really had a great influence on CC's game. He definitely is a complete player.

Newhook is on pace for 20pts this season. Hopefully he gets out of whatever funk he’s in but it’s a results-based thing, this is competitive professional sport, and he’s not delivered the expected goods this season. It’ll take time to convince others that one game undoes ten bad ones.

He definitely moves his wheels and does good things. It’s hard to understand why he’s not producing and why some nights he seems ineffective (is ineffective). It reminds me of Scott Gomez. Smooth skating, can carry the puck, but somehow doesn’t make plays.
It has been more than one game.

Exciting game. However... If Habs want to make playoffs they should do these 3 things:

1. Tighten up defensively... 11 goals in last 2 games... can't tell me it's all on goalies. Though Montanbo did not help last night.
2. Play Dobes more often... He wins. Period. He was not great tonight, but clutch.
3. Change the PP1 set up FFS. You have 5 talented players being kept outside the box and no one is even remotely screening or obstructing the goalie. Why is Slaf not living in the crease, a-la Kreider?

4th line is missing Heineman big time... I don't know if Beck played any more than Pezz but he didn't do much of anything.

Anyway, I am still super pissed after loss to leafs and don't wanna talk to anyone.
And you're doing a great job not talking to anyone.

Dobes still has a lot to work on which should be expected. The more he plays, the more his holes will be exploited. Lindgren, Condon, and Tokarski all got off to hot starts only to come back down to earth. Still excited about his future. He’s come a long way since I first saw him in the AHL so he’s still growing.

😇👍

WTF ?

It has been more than one game.
and yet he's still on pace for 21 points despite getting 15min a night all season. Let's give the fans a break if they're not tripping over themselves to praise Alex Newhook the 12 point 24-year old wunderkind.

They traded Eichel because the idiot owner wouldn't allow the surgery Eichel wanted. If he wasn't hurt he wouldn't have been traded. Whether he would gone when he was UFA is another question.
