Lol. All our kids have unique names, we went with Cillian for this one. I already have one son named after a sports figure (Payne Stewart) and she said no more athletes after that one. Granted, she also said no more kids after that one, and we all know how that turned out....
Payne and Layne would have been epic lolll.
Missed opportunity ;)

That was ugly and entertaining. It didn't really feel like the Rangers were in it except every now and then they would get a dangerous chance in transition or turnover. Quick was very good despite the 5 goals allowed.

That's a game the Habs would have not pulled out a month ago.

I don’t know when was the last time I was so emotionally involved in Habs games. I thought it had to do with me getting old but no, it’s back baby!! Feels good! This team will only get better…
I hear ya and feel just as you do……and this is coming from a guy who had the pleasure of watching all those great teams in the 60s and 70s.

Also the Rangers that we played tonight look like a team that slammed shut their Cup window. I don’t think a Retool will be enough.

He's trying, he's getting chances, but he's not talented enough, sadly.

Yeah he's an impact player out there lately on both offense and defense. His pace has been unreal, best on the team. I'm sorry you feel like his worth is tied only to the number of chances he finishes, which has been low lately, no doubt.

The points will come though and the usuals will be on to the next whipping boy which is apparently Monty. Sad existence for so many people, truly.

This game is the epitome of why I can't listen to the negative contingent on this board. So much positive absolutely pouring out of this team right now. So much for Slaf being shit, Newhook, Gally, Dach, MSL can't coach etc.

The usual crew is nowhere to be found in times like this. So sad.
You probably weren't around to see the comments when they were down 2-1, I went to find the tank thread to bump it up but got side tracked. It was brutal, but low passed and we are one the high side of bi polar.

X fight was a turning point. They scored on ensuing PP and grew a few inches taller.
Watched the fight a few times. Arber is so f***ing strong, it's ridiculous. And after getting suckered, he came, fought in close and just destroyed him with a few lefts.
This kid isn't even 24 yet.
And the leafs fans taunting about last night? He didn't need to fight Reaves - and Reaves went awfully quietly after 72 drilled him.
I'm not quite sure reaves wants that fight vs a monster 14 years younger

It's only hockey, you will be fine, no need to be upset about messages.

I’m watching the rest of the Wings/Stars game, and man Detroit fans would probably kill for Monty.

Lyon: 2.73GAA .900% .571 quality starts, +1 goal saved above average
Talbot: 3.07GAA .901% .565 quality starts, -0.2 goal saved above average
Montembault: 2.97GAA .897% .500 quality starts, -3.7 goals saved above average

Even more damning for Monty

High danger scoring chances at even strength.
Lyon: .909
Talbot: .902
Montembault: .854

Sam would literally be a downgrade on both wings goalies. No, they wouldn't kill for him.

If Dobes is not a flash in pan, and I don’t think he is, on social media this will be as savage as Price vs Halak.
What was it I said the other day...
"He won't wilt"
This game was a perfect example of that.
I'm glad he got that bad start out of his system.
He'll be that much better next time when he's called upon on home ice.
