Post-Game Talk: Habs defeat the Preds, pad lead in WC2

Matheson gets alot of flack on this site but damn...he played 31 minutes...
I give him some, a lot, but the reason why I do is because he would be so much more effective if he just simplified his game. Stop trying to beat guys 1 on 1, move the puck and move your feet. He just doesnt have the awareness required at the highest level to play such a risky style. Look at preds goal tonight, you just can't make that play in the N.

The crux of the matter - Matheson’s being asked to perform above his pay grade & be this teams Lidstrom / Hedman etc. it’s not who he ever was or will be.

He’s being unfairly criticized, admirable job for a $4.8M Dman…

Just finished watching the game... god family is exhausting.

Well, they don't ask how... they ask how many. That was fuuuuugly! But win's a win.

And you people were saying about Dobes? Dude totally settled in and bailed their asses. This was a bad game by most of the team. Like what... 17 shots agaist the defense led by Justin Barron?

Also, I thought Yoel played a much better game. Controlled a puck with authority and was awesome on the PK.

And Pezz... oh man... god bless his heart.

Oy ok. No much rest, but I want to see a much better team effort on Tuesday. By better I mean better execution RIGHT FROM THE START. Detroit will be super hungry.

I heard the announcers mention Dobes seemed shaky and unable to control rebounds. I assume a bunch of enlightened posters were talking about how shaky and rebound prone he was?

So, Hutson tied Chelios now? Or passed him? Dude's awesome. And I think he actually had a slap shot tonight. Even announcers were like Whaaaaaaah?! :D

If Hutson works on shooting this summer (not that he has a bad shot... just on actually shooting instead of passing) he will be insane. Sigh him up now. 10 years at 3.5M per. Good deal :D

Anybody else outraged at that Forsberg hit on Hutson? Dirty as hell.
I hope someone from the organisation sent the clip to Parros. That was straight up intent to injure, elbow, interference, head contact.

Hutson doesn’t strike me as a player that complains tho, feels like Xhakej would have run over Forsberg if he knew so I’m not even sure they saw it

Nashville is so cooked, it’s nuts how far and fast that team (and the old players) have fallen
It was more than obvious looking back.

They had an unsustainable winning streak to end last year and thought they had a good team. So they go out and add old washed up players that have nothing to play for (Stamkos and Marchessault). It was bound to blow up in their faces.
