Post-Game Talk: Habs defeat the Preds, pad lead in WC2

6pts up in the wild card spot

It looks more and more likely that we're actually gonna make it. It's not over yet but things are looking good. Now we can afford to lose a game or two. Not that i want to lose but we're breathing a little more comfortably if things go down south a bit in the remaining games.

This team doesn't quit. The boys were visibly tired tonight but they still found a way to win. The D blocked shots and Dobes was stellar.
lose a game or 2? They need 6 points in 5 games. If they lose 2. Then they need 6 points in 3. They can’t afford to lose 2 games in reg.

I’m convinced Dobes gets better if he plays more.
Especially if his team defends better around him and cuts down the giveaways
Cant be outshot 2-1 and many good chances
And expect a goalie to not let in hardly any goals
Dobes rebound control needs to be better
But I think it would be if Habs were not outplayed like they've been with Dobes in net

Dobes can get sliding around sometimes over committing to pucks but he was fantastic tonight.

Great f***ing win... not a great game... but the win was huge!!!

Suzuki and Hutson continue their dominance... just beautiful.

We had a handful of games that we were favored to win and needed to win... and they got the job done... which isn't always the case, as we have a habit playing down to our opponents... but with everything on the line they showed they can lock it in and get the job done... amazing to see heading down the final stretch and into the playoffs!

...another big game coming up again Detroit with a 4 point swing... I hope they keep up their determination and drive.

...I have been tempering my expectations of this team all year and saying that we don't need to make the Playoffs in order for this to be a successful Season...however, to step up like they have after Big Dick Nick went to Hughes and asked him not to trade anyone away, is more than any of us fans could have ever asked for...and now we WILL get Playoff hockey to help them grow even more...huge WIN for the rebuild!!...:thumbu:

He wasn't first little while but I think he was getting to many shots

And the chances against dobes over last while when he was losing was way too many and too dangerous - that could be why he over does things

6 won't be enough because Rangers have the tiebreaker in that scenario if they run the table.

The most pleasing thing about tonight’s win was Dobes' return to form. So important for our playoff push. Takes some pressure off Monty, Marty, and the coaching staff.

If only we could rush Demigod into the lineup. In the last 20 games, only Ottawa in the East has a comparable record. Along with the Blues, we’re one of the hottest teams in the league. Wouldn’t be surprised if we upset a few teams on our Cup run.

Strap yourselves in, boys.
