You can't be serious. Tampa was great when they had bottom-six guys like Armia and Evans. That line along with Heineman was good before everyone else learned the system. Shift after shift they hemmed teams in their end, forget the past, what they are giving us now is all that matters.

I misread the post. I was comparing Beck to Dvorak and Gallagher. Beck will likely be better than Armia & Evans offensively but it will be probably take a few years.

It was pretty even. 50.9% to 49.1% for TB.

Suzuki and Evans both won big draws in the final 2 minutes.

Thanks, it looked different than that to me but oh well. Those two are our best centers by a mile. I felt it was a tough game for Gallagher and Dvorak, so many plays die with them. Gallagher has been a good soldier but he is fading and seems to be a liability out there.

For all the haters that thinks Owen Beck would be able to easily replace Evans or Armia, stop daydreaming. It's a reality check for you people. Beck is not close to them at this moment and if the Habs objective is to make the playoffs for the upcoming years, KH absolutely needs sign at least one of them if not both. The ones that needs to go are Gallagher and Dvorak by far.

lol nobody talked about Evans and Armia, it's mainly Dvorak and Pizzaria. And right now they should be replaced by Davidson and Condotta.

The guy who has impressed the most lately has been Slaf. He's blossoming like crazy. Not too long ago I was about ready to trade him to the NYR for Laf but now I would never do that. I believe he has far more drive than Laf. You can see the kid loves hockey.

And........the kid is still only 20 yrs old!!!!!!!!!!!!! Going to be a beast!

Beck didn't play a lot, but he had some good shifts along the boards & showed his effortless skating.

He helped his line zone Tampa we got the short change in which led to the tying goal.
I'm not sure how many people caught that. I don't know what people think his instructions are but I guarantee you he's following them.

And bad players can still score sometimes. It happens.

He's a bad player. His hockey sense is very poor at this point. Can it improve? Sure. Anderson changed the way he plays and he's been effective. Barron can save his career. But he's not good right now. Carrier is like a Norris winner in comparison.

Add me to that club. The size, versatility, board play, PK performance and the high end hands is not something we'd find easily either at the draft, the UFA market or in trades.

Wonder what it would cost to retain him? 2 years $2-2.5M per year?

Its not a coincidence the team started playing better when the barron for carrier trade happened and dobes for primeau. Barron couldnt make a play and primeau couldnt make a save

My fault. No problem. Not sure Beck will be as good as Armia defensively. I know he was good at killing penalties with Mississauga. He and Del Bel Belluz did a lot of it.

Which hockey mind here can explain why Habs are so good lately? Like gameplay change? Is it the speed? The laine energy surge? Better defensively with Carrier? MSL gameplan finally getting through players head?

Having two reliable goalies, poised defensemen, and that extra game-breaker in Laine, gives them belief. Meanwhile, Hutson is on fire, which adds to our weaponry in the offensive zone. Belief means the difference between surrendering quietly and standing up to the Panthers and Lightning even when the opposing team is ahead, even in its own barn. In addition, MSL may turn out to be a decent coach after all.

I don't know, I read a few times on this forum that Beck will be a cheaper Evans as soon as next year, that's why some of them are hesitant to resign Evans.

I think resigning Evans is a no brainer at this point, especially if the Habs intentions are to make the playoffs consistently for the next 5 years.

This is exactly right the winning has gone on to the point where they will no longer ever have that losers posture.
