Post-Game Talk: Habs defeat Sabres in OT

It becomes obvious that Beck isn't ready.
You may be right. Hard to know for sure. Maybe they are just easing Beck in. Maybe, as habdynasty mentioned, penalties played a role. For sure they can always send him down for the Laval playoffs. I'd like to see more TOI for Beck.

5 wins streak.

1 win against the Sharks on 3 vs 3 pond hockey
2 wins against Buffalo with one of them in a 3 vs 3 pond hockey.

Easy shit opponents will put us in no mans land. Easy schedule will f*** us over.
Doesn't matter what the team does, some people will complain about everything

The tying goal was an example of the failure of the man-to-man defensive system. Evans is covering Dahlin and for some reason thinks Nick will switch with him after he fakes the back pass. Then Dahlin has a clear shot on net.

That was an odd read by Evans. And it's also why communication is one of the key concepts in that type of defending.

Yeah, don't worry sweetheart, I'm sure we'll crater again and you won't have to worry or care about the Habs again.
Listen honey, all I said if they play the Oilers like they played the Sabres for most of the game, winning 6 in a row isn't going to happen, especially playing on the road. Winning 6 in a row is already difficult enough, they'll need to put in a solid 3 period effort.

1993 Entry211Saku KoivuCTPS Turku [SM-liiga]

.....thats the list (Koivu was a bona fide 1st line centre)
I was here from the very start. At no point did anyone on these boards ever think koivu was a first line centre. Ever. Constantly ripping on the fact he was too small blah blah blah. It was even worse after his knee injury. I loved koivu, but at no point was he ever given the linemates to see his true potential.

And exactly how well have the Sabres fared with Thomson in their line-up? With Eichel?
Errr are you saying Eichel isn't a 1st line center? Don't get what your point is here?

Clear to me Tage would immediately be our first line center.

Tage is not even a real center…

What I was trying to say, probably inelegantly, was that while both Eichel and Tage are excellent centers, they alone wasn't enough to get the Sabres into the playoffs. I would rather have a team that has depth, skill and speed at all positions even if it doesn't have a supposedly #1 center.

You didn't watch the game, did you? The Habs slept for 40 minutes of that game after a great first 20. They did f*** all for two periods.
I happened to have watched the entire game last night thank you. Yeah, they sat back once they got up 3-0, but you probably know that they often say a 3-0 lead is the worst lead in hockey. And it ain’t easy winning both games on a back-to-back plus sweeping the regular season series from a division rival, something the Habs just did.

As for doing f all for 2 periods, I don’t think it was as if the Habs stopped trying; they still battled hard. Yes, they played far too defensive, and they have to learn from that. However, I give Buffalo some credit too; even though they are a bad team falling out of the race once again, somehow Ruff got them to push back and play with pride after a disastrous first period in spite of atrocious goaltending and stupid penalties all game long.

I wouldn’t blame longtime fans for complaining about the team sitting back and being outplayed for 2 periods if they had lost, but the Habs still got the 2 points and that is what counts in this playoff race.
