Hello! So this was my first game for watching habs very long time. The game was tight, Islanders were on their form, this was not easy one at all. Looked like a post season match. Habs looks like playoff team which is good. But there is a problem, besides PP which looked dangerous, none of the lines generated anything in the whole game. There was one possession in the third but thats all. Lines needs to be re-assembled seriously.

Habs got lucky looking at Boxscore. Giving up 31 shots to non playoff team. Monty must have stood on his head for this win

He's going to have a couple off nights as he gets back and acclimates but the one thing that will always be there is that absolute laser.

The ovation and reaction to the goal is just the release of an entire fanbase who was excited for better things this year when we acquired him. What a moment.

Good win on Laine's return, I'm sure the boys are pumped in the locker room! Crazy how Suzuki is ppg while looking like he's barely trying out there Playoff Suzuki is gonna be a freaking monster.

I'm still very concerned with Dach though. MSL should try Evans on the 2nd with Slaf and Laine. Laine can create his own offense, Evans and Slaf can do the dirty work.

Also put Heineman on the 1st for a few games, just to see what he can bring with more responsibilities.

Put Dach on the 4th with Newhook and Armia or let him take Dvorak's spot on the 3rd line.

I kinda like the Slaf, Laine, Dach line.

Seems to be a great group of guys, who have endured a serious amount of losing...............and wins are a great thing, they are tired of losing, and want to win badly, and do seem happy for each other when they pull off a W !

They were the worst line.

Dach really needs to take shorter shifts. Laine will be the same for a while too.

But MSL also needs to stop putting Dach in situations he shouldn't be in his current state. It's like 4-5 games in a row now where Dach has a blunder (or more) in an important game situation (end of period or OT).

This is something MSL struggles with 82 games of the year. Leaving the lines together is just not his game...................constant change, which surprises me, because as an ex player, he knows this must drive them all crazy.

He has yet to find a combination that he leaves alone for more than a game or two.....when he wants to get a player going, they land on Suzuki's line.....that seems to be the only strategy to his methods.
Having Newhook on the top line is absurd, and yet here we are...

I understand people defending Dach by saying he needs to find his skating again, but he should be doing so outside the top 6. It isn't fair to him or his linemates to be in that position if he isn't 100%.

First period was quite decent and you did get hints of the heavy game that line could play.

I haven't been to a live game in a while.
I forgot just how much easier it is to see plays develop or not when the entire canvas is visible.
Suffice it to say there were a lot of or nots for various reasons.

Our PP was better and I was happy to see Suzuki away from that bumper spot.
Yeah Suzuki is actually better when he gets touches on the PP in the Ozone who could have guessed?

That was an awesome game. But Im being serious where I find the habs have been playing like this since the calgary game (with the odd stinker here and there).

Laine was f***ing awesome.

To the person who posted the Dach video - I knew I wasn't misremembering. He was awesome. That first step though seems to be gone due to the knee injury and now it's apparent why he is a step behind the play.
