Do we have video clips or something to remind us how good Dach actually was? Cause I remember him being very slippery last year. Really good long stick. Being able to get around guys and steal the puck a lot.

I know he’s still recovering but I Don’t recognize this guy this year.

Am I remembering this guy wrong? Was he ever as good as I remember him?
The guy's confidence is absolutely shot. Don't think it's the worst idea for him to sit a few and have a little reset. Can't do anything else with him besides hope he bounces back eventually since we paid a good bit for him.

If we had a second line, we'd be in the mix. Slaf/Dach/Newhook have been a massive letdown. Their 27 points between them is inexcusable. Suzuki alone has 26, and many think his play is not as good as usual.

Laine-Suzuki-Slaf
Caufield-Dach-Newhook

Cole is playing well enough with whoever this year that he’ll do well with those guys.
That would also be great to see.

When we get Demidov, it will just be great, having at least Laine, Demidov, Suzuki, and Cole, plus hopefully Slaf and Dach will be ready.

I'm in the minority ( > 1%), I'd put Dvo with Dach and Cole and hope Newhook could center Armia, and lead that line to the success it had last year when Armia scored 17...

Ha ha ha ha.. you haven't looked at January.

IMO none of it really matters, it's just about playing consistently better, and some individuals finding their games and showing some growth.

The playoff picture or the standings are secondary and will take care of itself.

I like winning because it helps momentum and fosters a better environment, couldn't really care less if we make playoffs or not.

Since Columbus is playing later, I watched you guys play.
  • I don't know why you keep criticizing Dvorak, he's playing very well on a line with Anderson and Gallagher.
  • Laine and Slafkovsky have great chemistry, but Dach... maybe until Kirby gets in shape, he could play on the fourth line with Armia and Heineman.
  • Otherwise, Kirby has a horrible FO%, his partners still had to fight for the puck.
  • Patrik must shoot more.
  • Remember one sequence when Laine didn't get a chance to sub so he played with Evans and Heinemano. The Isles couldn't get out of their zone.
  • Matheson played very well.
  • Monty was fantastic, nothing to add here.

Demi arrives next year.

Hopefully there is another top 6 centre we can find somewhere. It'll be at that point that we are fully realized.

Caufield - Suzuki - Demidov
Slaf - ****** - Laine
Heinemen - Dach - Newhook
Anderson - Evans - Gally

Long term...keep Dach as a 3rd line centre. Resign him for 3.5- 5 million again. That is value on the cap.
