This season the Habs have shown they can beat and anybody and lose to anybody..... as random as their win loss record indicates.

I liked the stat (shown during broadcast) that said we were #1 in the league with 25 1-goal games

Happy with the win.

Too bad Monahan was nothing special tonight, Avs will be buyers at the deadline.

Hope they were impressed by Armia though. Please?
Nahhh, Armia is just too good. We keep him. Perfect player to have for a playoff team or a future one. Keep him and extend him!

Indeed, Armia has been playing really well lately, he is pretty good on the PK too. If pro scouts do their job correctly, Armia is someone who could help some playoffs teams and be acquired for basically nothing.
This Armia I not keen on moving...
For whatever reason he's having fun playing hockey as Marty pointed out.

The problem is when will his bi-polar game kick back in?
He's had more good games this season than he had all of last year despite spending time in Laval.
There aren't too many here who believe it will last.

He's been kinda healthy this year too which usually is an issue for him.

He was good bottom 6 player in the cup run a couple years back and if he's healthy, he can do the same for another playoff team although the contract is a problem.

The contract doesn't bother me much when he plays at this level.
He's basically playing a top six role and if his PK can be exemplary like it was in our cup run.
It's money well spent given how bad we've become. That PK was probably the main reason we went so far.
A consistent season of this Armia and you probably don't hear a peep about his salary.

None of those 3 played “average” though… no name G who won Cups ended up having career runs
we're gonna get lost in definitions yet again in this discussion... those goalies are all "average", looking at their careers on the whole, even though they may have played very well during their actual Cup run.

Great night at Bell Centre. Habs are exciting team to watch.

You can tell Habs only a 2nd line away from Cup contender. If have another Slaf line, lookout. Colorado are one of best team in league, Habs went toe to toe with them.

Specialty teams had their best game. Powerplay 2 goals, the penalty kill changed momentum of game in second period.

Armia playing like he did in '21 Cup run. Shows the bugger can play when he wants to.

Habs get Dach back, draft a Catton type add some depth to farm system. Probably trade a defenseman plus a late first for a goal scorer in off season. Get some help from farm system next season. Wifi should be back, Beck might be here late next year, Hutson this year. In '25 off season make a big splash for a star. Have many contract come off books.
Don't stop, I'm almost there...

I'm speaking more in the context of moving him with a cap thats been flat for a while.

Another hard working game by Montreal. It's hard to believe, but we actually won this game due to special teams! PK was excellent except for that 1st PP by Avs, and our PP was dangerous. Habs have actually started to incorporate down low plays! 😲

RHP is looking great since coming back from injury. Hopefully he's able to keep that up. He really helps the Gallagher/Evans line.

Allen was excellent in the 3rd, and was much better than Georgiev.

Armia was a beast throughout the game. This is the player that earned that $3.4m contract, and was a menace during the 2021 playoffs. He's been putting together solid performances for awhile now.

Again, Matheson-Guhle worked. I don't miss Barron and his soft play(s) at all.

I don't miss Dvorak at all. Evans offense is a blackhole, but so is Dvorak's. Evans does everything better than Dvo.

We'll see if Ylonen plays next game. He got one off the ear, which hurts like a bitch. Roy unfortunately was benched in 3rd, as MSL went down to 3 lines. Thought Stephens played really well though in 3rd period.

Fun game to watch. Refs were awful.

If the team can sustain that level of effort defensively shown in the last two games, they will win more games.

Colorado should be in the goalie market too.

Georgiev has a sub .900 save percentage and looked more interested in having a nap than try to read a play.
Avs should be more concerned about their striking high danger giveaways, without Landeskog their fwd group is a mess defensively - agree their goaltending is also sub par

After two consecutive putrid efforts in Philly and vs. Sharks, Habs come back with two consecutive strong games against two of best teams and some of the leagues best players.

Jets, one of the best teams? No problem.
Stars, one of the best teams? No problem.
Rangers, one of the best teams? No problem.
Avs, one of the best teams? No problem.

Sabres, one of the worst teams? Problem.
Sharks, the worst teams? Problem.
The problem was fatigue against those lesser teams we blew all our energy trying to compete with the better teams.
I'm wondering if we have the energy to try and stick with the NJD if so how bad will we suck against Ottawa? :help:

Colorado's defensive game sucks. With Georgiev and that D they are not going far. They need Jake Allen and Christian Dvorak.

I don't think I saw Roy in the third... at least not the last 12 minutes of it that I watched. Is he better/worse/same as Heineman?

Missed the game and when I saw they won 4-3 I expected the shots to be like 60-15 for Colorado with us just winning because Allen stood on his head. Glad to hear they played a good game and nice to see Caufield, Slaf and RHP with goals.

Allen made some big save, Strubble had a other noticeable game, most guy look good even if they weren’t noticeable.
I think we have to give some props to Armia, because I seem like he is getting $hit on constantly. This is what Armia can bring when playing with smart player ( guy that don’t rely on speed and have some skills like Monahan) he can’t have those result for 82 games but even when he isn’t noticeable he is still reliable and look around the at other team bottom 6 and Armia isn’t that bad.
Kind of like Matheson getting people keep point is mistake but kinda forget how good he is playing, look at comparable for guy playing so many min and pts making less for 5M$ for a other 2 years.
