Petry is working his way out of Montreal since september.
Wife took the kids back to Michigan for a "better life" leaving him alone here for the rest of the season...

He will thrive on a contender team that already have a solid group of leader.

Perhaps that is likely because Quebec Covid restrictions are starter than prbly anywhere in America except New York city.

Petry isn't likely be traded before the trade deadline . Have fun making your fantasy trades.

Petry traded or not traded at the next deadline is not a fantasy and there is no probability we can determine as fans. Have fun being a nit pick poster about nothing of value. Your in the wrong place

Sure. Understood. The fact remains that the holed filled is a 3rd pair defenseman. Would you spend a 1st and a top prospect for 3rd pairiing d?
Look at my post. I said i was fine with a 1st -no retention.
It seems that Petry isn't a fit for the caps.
Pretty sure that Petry would be on your 2nd pairing.

You have not seen Jensen this season. Here's the thing. The Caps have a hole to fill if Mantha doesn't come back. They dont have a hole to fill in Jensen and Carlson's spot.

RD is the lowest priority for the Caps. Carlson/Jensen/TVR is a solid right side, no need to mess around to fit in Petry.

Caps need goaltending primarily.

I would trade Petry for Klingberg.

Unless Caps are ready to include Lapierre in a trade.

You should try that then. The Caps are extremely unlikely to include Lapierre in ANY trade and there’s basically ZERO chance they trade him for Petry, a 34yr old DMan who appears to have surpassed the “value” portion of his contract and is still signed to term.

No team trades a prospect like Lapierre for a 34yr old, even fewer teams trade that player for Jeff Petry. Face it, MTL has tough choices with Petry and Price. Ultimately, you likely have to trade them if the team is to rebuild. They’re both looking spent and have $$ and Term. I don’t envy whoever MTLs management is going to be.

Not only that, there are rumours circulating now that another reason for his family staying in the U.S., was that his wife was berated in a Costco for speaking English. Not sure if this is bs or not, but Petry's attitude this season along with his on ice performance gives the impression that he wants out.
