For me in the little details, LT was the MVP. Caps had some lapses in the series that LT shut the door on. We have not not seen Caps strong playoff goaltending since 2018 with Holtby.
I’ll go BackStrome. Thompson was also amazing.

I actually don't like that much rest for them... The Caps tend to be rusty and sloppy after long layoffs. 4 days is good.
Series MVP is a tough one, but if I had to lean towards an answer it would be LT. Early in the season when he was at his best it was the first time in years that the Caps have had a goalie that I just fully assume will save every shot, even ones he shouldn’t. I’m starting to get that feeling about him again and hope he can keep it up.
Strome obviously was also fantastic, not just statistically. When he’s at his best he does such a good job of kind of slowing the game down to his pace to use his skills to full advantage.
Huge to have the PP step up, because we’re going to need it.

It's also a much more taxing style of play right now, so the extra rest will pay dividends over a long series.
You could see the Caps were absolutely spent in Game 3. They weren't used to sustaining that level of physicality over the course of three games in 5 days. I had a feeling we'd see their best game of the series in Game 5, given the extra days they had to recover.

I'll admit that game 3 gave me pause, but I still thought they would win the series. Everything was gravy after game 4.

He was on Dowd's line with mostly defensive matchups. Looked fine, but didn't get many offensive opportunities. I think he needs to play in one of the top two lines. Beauvillier filled in admirably, but it's time for Pro to take his spot back against the Canes.

Wouldnt mind seeing him back with Wilson and PLD personally, think that gives that 2nd line more scoring punch. Seemed like they never had Pro on the Ovi line until it was time to push for 895.

Nice to see Sonny Boy and other guys who were scratched/injured in the room, although I can't say I noticed all of them. (Nicky and Osh being the obv exceptions) No idea what other teams do, but imo this says alot about the camaraderie and vibes on the team.

I loved to see Chych on the PP in front clearing out knocking down worthless and weak Habs defensemen on the Wilson goal. It brought back memories of Stevens playing LW on the PP... can't say I can remember the last time a Dman would play forward on the PP.
I dont know if Chych up front was scripted but I want curve balls like that on the PP. Not a static predictable attack. I want chaos.

I stopped worrying when Ovi scored in overtime, game 1. Losing that game, giving up that lead late would have brought back all the dread. Winning it washed it all away, never worried for a second after that.

I was paranoid especially when they were trailing Game 4 but that Wilson hit changed the series completely. After that hit they score to take the lead in a 2-2 game.
After that, it was 3-1, and all the Caps had to do was win at home. Done, and done, rather easily.
Also it doesn't hurt that after that 6-3 shellacking Logan Thompson wasn't injured at all. That was huge. Logan being hurt or out of the team for a period of time would have been very worrysome. Thankfully he is alright and the Caps are moving on.
