I'll tell you. It will be real easy. They will buy the transition mode. Heck, who the heck asked that question to Bergevin? "What transition"? Who? Will they ask it during the press conference? Nope. Only thing you'll hear is "What would you want to see improving with this team"...."Well it's too soon to tell, we'll look at our options, it could come from within the organization, and we'll try to improve the team, as I always try to do it". Rinse and repeat. At least for anothe full year playoffs included.....'cause we will make it thanks to Price. Another 1st or 2nd round exit. Then the real qusetions might come...Therrien will stil be there at the start of the other with then a shorter leash. So I have him for at least anothe full year and start of another. At the very worst.
I don't think anybody asked Bergevin if this team was in transition because there isn't a team who finishes among the top of the NHL for 3 years in a row that's still in transition. Nobody would ever come up with this crap. I think it's something Bergevin just mentioned on his own to maybe give himself some leeway.
That said, he's entering year 4. So if nothing is really to change things up next season, I think things will heat up.
If not from the media, then from the players because I don't think Price and Pk and Patches are going to just be content having to play on a team in a completely ''defensive'' where nobody scores.
I really don't see how people are just going to be complacent if they see DD, yet again, part of top 6 as a center. With Weise there too. Galchenyuk on wing. etc..
It will be his 4th year. We should be contenders with Price-PK-Patches entering their prime. So there will be more pressure to succeed. There's more of it every year.
