No one cares
I wonder if Carey Price watched this tonight? He would have been looking at a very similar version of himself in the style of Dobes. I don't watch Laval and never saw this kid play but he is very ready to play in the NHL. His lateral movement and rebound control are NHL quality and he shows no signs of nerves.

We may suck at drafting and developing centers but the Montreal Canadiens must have some of the best luck in the NHL with the goaltending position.

Avs fans complaining about the refs....that's rich.

Monty must be sweating right now.
Why?
He's under contract for two more years.
He's about to represent Team Canada in a tournament.

Guy has nothing to worry about. If Montreal decides to bench him repeatedly for Dobes, he'll just request a trade - and trust me, there's a bunch of takers.

The 4vs3 in overtime was lacking Demidov. Him, Caufield, Suzuki and Hutson will be perfect. I like Dach, but Demidov will bring this to another level.
So many 3vs3 combination we could use in a couple years.

Demidov, Suzuki, Hutson
Demidov, Caufield, Hutson
Demidov, Slaf, Hutson
Demidov, Dach, Hutson

Hage too

ect, ect

Slaf being benched should wake him up. I think he'll be fine he seems to be one of those players that needs a reality check that he isn't actually that dude from Scarface.

But it's not the worst thing, I think some of the tough love on a player like that will work wonders.
I would love to know how Slaf could be regressing in his 3rd year? How do you regress playing with Goal Caufield and Captain Nick playing next to you? I really don’t get it…..It sure would help if he goes back to playing like the #1 guy drafted instead of some AHL temporary call up.

Looking forward to reading the next 20 pages on how we lost a franchise player in Lehky!!
Who ever said that? We didn't lose a franchise player. But we tossed a very, very good player away for a really poor return.

But the trade we got for him was f***ing awful. Especially when he went on to basically be a playoff MVP for them.

Justin Barron was a mediocre return from minute one and honestly it only got worse.

But thankfully we've somehow turned that player into Carrier who has been rather solid for us. So at least the Lehkonen deal turned into something positive.

I lve maintained for years... whatever the aura is in mtl, whatever that stress is that makes forwards crumble; has the opposite affect on goalies.

Didn't we also get Heineman in that deal? Or am I thinking of someone else?

100% agree….if anyone thinks this is a fluke, you are not watching the games. The kid was lights out in preseason, lights out in Laval, and has now been lights out against Florida and Colorado in their rinks. This kid is here to stay and I will go out on the limb to say, “he is our best goalie without a doubt. And without a doubt, his ceiling is much higher than Sam’s.”
I'm already on record saying Dobes > Monty.
I came to that conclusion watching him shut teams down in Laval particularly in tight chances.
His physical attributes are just better as is his base and the dude has great reflexes.
