Trying to win?...yes?
You think we just beat a bunch of NObodies? ALL on the road? DURING our fabled dreaded December road trip that usually tends to make or break our season?

You can't want a top5 pick every single season dude..
I don’t know how closely people are following Ottawa. They’ve had the 2nd WC place locked for days/weeks? and they suck.

Dobes is never leaving until Laval's post season that should be clear to everyone.
100% agree….if anyone thinks this is a fluke, you are not watching the games. The kid was lights out in preseason, lights out in Laval, and has now been lights out against Florida and Colorado in their rinks. This kid is here to stay and I will go out on the limb to say, “he is our best goalie without a doubt. And without a doubt, his ceiling is much higher than Sam’s.”

FIRST - PLEASE DEFENSEMAN STOP RUNNING PLAYERS INTO DOBES! Two hard crashes tonight both helped immensely by our defenders. I believe he also had to jump over one of his own defenseman at one point, if I remember correctly.

Anyway....

Dobes is so damn calm back there. The way he tracked Rantanen in the shootout was a thing of beauty.

Thought the boys worked really hard, especially from about the 30:00 minute mark on.

The reffing was pretty brutal all night for both teams.

Even though I think Anderson is vastly overpaid and doesn't have any hockey sense in his body whatsoever, I do think he's quietly settled into his role as best as we could hope for. I do not hate him anyway near as much as previous years. And if he wanted to stick around in a 4th line kind of role, I wouldn't even be opposed to bringing him back if he keeps working hard throughout this deal... for a lot A LOT less money. And people know that's hard for me to say.

God I love Jake Evans. That waiver wire trash really is a great hard working hockey player. Huge fan.

Still miss Lehkonen - what a great little player. But still so damn happy he missed on the breakaway.
Jake isn't waiver-wire trash. He was drafted by the Habs.

I'm 43 games ahead of myself, but could you imagine playing the leafs in round 1 as a 2/7 or 1/8 seed?
young team, 0 to lose. The leafs finally maybe getting Boston off their back and then stepping into the Bell Centre cauldron.
f***ing love it!
the amount of leafs fans inserting themselves into every online Habs thread - especially on X, confirms montreal is deeply in their heads regardless of where we are in the standings

Pretty much any playoff team can beat any other playoff team in a 7 game series. Upsets are actually pretty common to see in the 1st round of the playoffs, it's the nugget of truth in the whole anything can happen in the playoffs. What separates the contenders from the pretenders isn't being able to win a 7 game series against a good team it's being able to 4 series in a row.
I agree with the math. But imo the faves are the faves for a reason - consistency and balance. But most importantly a potent attack.
