Lol.. we lost power just as Dach hit the back of the net. That's how impactful he is :D

What a gutsy win! They stuck with it and they just suffocated Avs in the second part of the game. MSL finally realized you sometimes do NOT have to roll 4 lines. That's encouraging. And Slaf got benched.

I hope Dobes is not injured, cause he looked a little uncomfortable after that hit by Lekhs. He is a real deal, people. I have a feeling!

Toronto? Lol
I grew up in the late70s, 80s.. Toronto was a joke of a team battling the North Stars in the Norris for that coveted 4th spot.
Nah, my only hatred was towards the Bruins, the Nords, and a few of those Dineen led Whalers and the Brass Bonanza..

I actually don't mind the Leafs. I basically support every Canadian team.

My kids all grew up here in Leaf country, and i never pushed the Habs on them.. but they all turned out Habs fans anyways, so that was a bonus.

There are only 7~ legit contenders this year:
1- Toronto
2- Florida
3- NJ
4- Vegas
5- Edmonton
6- Colorado
7- Jets

Outside these guys, we could beat any team in a 7 game series, with some good bounces.
I can see us eyeing the 1st Wildcard spot even 3rd in Division.
Pretty much any playoff team can beat any other playoff team in a 7 game series. Upsets are actually pretty common to see in the 1st round of the playoffs, it's the nugget of truth in the whole anything can happen in the playoffs. What separates the contenders from the pretenders isn't being able to win a 7 game series against a good team it's being able to 4 series in a row.

....so anyways I went to the dépanneur with my friend in this crazy cold to buy beer. And the dépanneur there was this absolute hot babe. It was unreal. She paid and she gave me this insane smile and she left. I was like what is this? I think she might have been a fairy princess spreading me with good luck dust. And if I was a betting man, that is how the Habs won this game.

Also, this is how I met your mother.

No one cares
The Caufield finish on a great pass from Suzuki was so ice cold gangster, the little assassin lol.

Armia played a solid game, his board work is amongst the best in the game.

The defense didn't break and gave Dobes great support.

Dobes, my God, so much confidence and composure back there, his movements and puck handling skills are really fun to watch. I would play him again on Monday, why not?

FIRST - PLEASE DEFENSEMAN STOP RUNNING PLAYERS INTO DOBES! Two hard crashes tonight both helped immensely by our defenders. I believe he also had to jump over one of his own defenseman at one point, if I remember correctly.

Anyway....

Dobes is so damn calm back there. The way he tracked Rantanen in the shootout was a thing of beauty.

Thought the boys worked really hard, especially from about the 30:00 minute mark on.

The reffing was pretty brutal all night for both teams.

Even though I think Anderson is vastly overpaid and doesn't have any hockey sense in his body whatsoever, I do think he's quietly settled into his role as best as we could hope for. I do not hate him anyway near as much as previous years. And if he wanted to stick around in a 4th line kind of role, I wouldn't even be opposed to bringing him back if he keeps working hard throughout this deal... for a lot A LOT less money. And people know that's hard for me to say.

God I love Jake Evans. That waiver wire trash really is a great hard working hockey player. Huge fan.

Still miss Lehkonen - what a great little player. But still so damn happy he missed on the breakaway.

I love how this team fight and play. Dach is back and that's a very important piece of that team. Ghule played a solid game, the Sheriff too, playing not on his side. And man I'm amazed by Dobes. I know it's a small sample but he seems like the real thing. I don't know how Fowler will become but Dobes is already there. he's like a new Price or Dryden. I start to beleive on this team, they are on the right track.
If Dobes proves he can play like this for the remainder of this season behind Monty, i'd say that pretty much makes Fowler an incredibly nice piece to land that 2C this summer.

I will give my man Kirby some credit, he looks like a different player right now. Some sort of switch flipped, maybe after the FLA game.

He's still quite a ways off from what I remember but you are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel recently.
