I doubt Habs are getting that kind of value for a goalie that hasn't played a game so far this year. Chiarot could or will probably land a 1st from a contending team. Switching Chiarot for Girard is just a no from me. We already have EJ and Toews as dmans that can play in all situations while Girard and Makar are great puck moving and zone exits dmans.

Habs/Avs proposals should be banned.

Tired of seeing Avs fans bash Price every time he’s mentioned. As if he wouldn’t be far and away the best goalie they’ve had since Patrick Roy.

It’s less that we don’t think Price is good, as much as it is about his contract being massive and the assets that have been demanded being a lot more than Avs would be willing to give up

You will get burned for that first proposal. Avs fans consider Girard the second coming of Lidstrom

Exaggerate much?
No, we just don't need to trade him to Montreal or Vancouver for crap we don't need. We don't need an aging goalie who can't stay healthy with so much term.
It has been established time and time and time again that the Avs and Habs/Avs and Canucks aren't good trading partners. At least on this board.

Dog Girard all you want, but he's better than most teams have for puck movers at a cheap price at a young age. We also can't trade him right now.

Price is too old and signed for too long at a massive cap hit.

He’s declining with too many injuries and still out with some undisclosed personal issues. Offered for free in the XDraft and not taken, they couldn’t even draft and flip him for other assets.

Massively having negative value and being closer to retirement than a serviceable Goalie.

Nothing they said was wrong bud. Take off the fan goggles.
Respectfully, bud, you are wrong.

You are not a GM. Saying Price has negative value is purely speculative. His playoff run proves that’s he’s not declining. If he’d be the starter on Team Canada, whose to say he wouldn’t be the starting goalie on the Avs?

He'd be the starter on almost every team in the league, especially on the Avs.

Respectfully, mate, you are wrong.

You are not a GM. Saying Price has positive value is purely speculative. His good playoff run last year doesn't erase the fact that he spent 3 of the last 4 seasons below the .910 mark during the regular season. He hasn't played a game since those playoffs. And he costs 7 million more than Kuemper does, with a contract 4 years longer. And quite honestly, saying he could be the starter on Team Canada ignores the fact that none of his competitors are having lights-out seasons either.

Price was dealing with mental health issues as well as playing behind an abysmal Montreal defense. Guys like Mete and Kulak have been mainstays over the past 4 years. That’s a big factor in why his SV% and GAA haven’t been up to par during the regular season. Now speculating, but you have to believe if you put Price behind a competent defense his numbers would go up.

Commensurate with his salary and term?
