So 40 games is all it takes? If that's the case, then another 40 games will tell the other half of the story. Cooley has yet to play in the NHL. Next season will tell the story on how Cooley fares compared to the other top-5 draftees. ergo, too early to tell.
Yes 40 games is all it takes. That's not a small sample. I think if you look most times the 2nd 40 games are even harder on young players who aren't used to a NHL season.

You are betting on Slaf having a better season than Cooley next year?

I am not betting anything. I am saying its too early to judge the top-5 draftees in that draft. Slaf may end up better. A player outside the top-10 may end up best of all. Too early to tell.

You would have to be an idiot to call it after 40 games.

You know your post history is available to everyone. To say you didn't want PLD after making a hundred offers for him or saying the Habs will get him for free as a UFA is proof you are just coping now.

My post history is very consistent. I gave a very clear summary of why the Habs should not trade for PLD and why a lowball offer if the right play. I'm sure you have the ability to look it up. Or ask Jets fans like Guffman etc. They will vouch.

To believe after 40 games, nothing will change regarding Slaf or any other prospect is beyond stupidity. I won't expand on that because it doesn't need explanation. Clearly, if you don't get it, you will never get it.

40 games.... LOL

He’s 27 years old, excellent skater, weighs +220lbs,is good for 20+ goals per season, 200+ hits per season, 2:00+ PK mins per game, and absolutely beats the wheels off dudes.

You think that’s ubiquitous? Haha. Start naming names. If they’re available for free every summer it should be easy.
What do you mean by beat the wheels?

He has underrated car mechanic skills. Crouse would make a good mechanic! :)
He does tire changes for everyone else on the team, and he does it better and faster than any tire shop they could go to. I hear he take the lug nuts off as well as torques them with his bare hands; no need for any tools when Lawson Crouse is around with his incredible grip strength. That’s a very valuable thing to have on the team, which is why ARZ fans are acting the way they are about him. I neglected to factor that in and am now humbled. Lawson Crouse’s value is far beyond anything the Habs could give.

Habs should not be in the market for a middle-6 mechanic. They need a magician.

Teams competing for the cup should have interest in Crouse. He could help during the grind of the playoffs. Habs won't see playoffs for some time yet.

Beat them up in fist fights. He’s a rather effective fighter by todays standards.
Then he is worth quite a bit. Enforcers who can actually play and put up 45+ pts don't grow on trees. He is exactly the kind of player the Habs could use to help Xhekaj keep the peace. The cost would be more than the Habs could afford and there is no reason for the Coyotes to move him.

Habs need an enforcer who can win fights. All teams do as long as the player is under 28.

Habs don’t have the assets to acquire a generational tire changer like Lawson Crouse. I was completely unaware of his superhuman tire changing ability. I am embarrassed. Excuse me, I feel exposed and I need to go cope now.

Crouse isn't an enforcer. He's a hockey player. Had a grand total of 1 fight last year against a middleweight. He's not paid to fight.

An enforcer won't change the Habs makeup or outlook next season. They are going to be bottom of the league again.

He only fights like 3x per season. But by 2023 standards that makes him practically an axe murderer.

Generational talent is a bit much. Crouse is more of a superstar/phenom. He could have been a two-sport professional (Hockey/Boxing) if he applied himself. Maybe even UFC too.

I’m hearing he showed up to spar with a few UFC fighters at a Vegas gym. He nearly killed them all with his generational tire changing grip strength when he applied submission holds. Dana White begged him to stick to hockey, for the safety and livelihood of the entire UFC roster. Lawson also being a generation nice guy, obliged and told the UFC fighters not to worry.

Now you are just being silly. The other UFC fighters held their own against Lawson Killer Crouse.

I've seen the posts. Take this junk or we will get him for frweeeeee! Not that you didn't want him. You're still here shows the failure to get PLD is still on your mind.

What makes you think there would have been any significant change in Slafs game in the second half of the season? Is significant to you a 5 game hot streak out of the next 40? What was your expectation out of him for the second half of the season? Was he about to break out right at game 40? What was just about to change? Or are you just hoping on hope. Spin that wheel and maybe he suddenly changes everything just because you saw one out of 1000 prospects do it so anything could happen?

Remind me of what 50 goal scorer we are talking about lmao. Also, ever heard of the movie Moneyball? This isn’t some crackpot idea I personally came up with lmao it’s a pretty common notion. What’s laughable is your reaction to someone else’s opinion on the internet, about a 2nd/3rd line guy no less.

Nah. I'm not laughing at your opinion, I'm laughing at you and your inability to put together a basic argument. In all seriousness, I'm also kinda laughing at the repeated Crouse jokes the last page or so, they're not bad.

But yeah, you're still not fooling anybody. But at least you're providing the entertainment, thx for that

Clearly you haven't seen the posts. I laid out all the reasons why it didn't make sense for the Habs to trade for PLD. I am very happy that PLD is not a Hab - relieved is probably a better word.

Regarding your 40 game rush to judgement on a player(s) in his D+1 year, have you lost your mind? 40 games were played. You can't project the outcome of a player or the draft class based on half a season. That's lunacy. Why would you open yourself to ridicule like this? Do you hate the Habs that much that you throw reason, logic and intelligence out the window? lol

I don't know why you keep saying that I'm talking about Slaf as a finished product whe clearly I said Hughes might know best. I clearly was talking about the season. Stop being so angry and read the words. I was talking about the season. Until you can answer any of my questions or read the words that a written you are completely out of your depth.

Start with when and why would Slaf have turned around his season?

Its not about turning a season around. Its about development / improvement over time. Losing 40 games due to injury prevented us from getting a whole picture of Slaf in his first NHL season. Furthermore, none of the other prospects from that draft (excluding Wright) played in the NHL. So its too early to judge or compare any of them (including Wright). Why is that so hard to comprehend? I can write slower if that helps you! lol

40....games... is.... to..... soon to properly.... evaluate / judge / compare..... players in the 2022.... draft.

(when you hit a .... , give it time for the words to soak in).
