That was great!
My biggest takeaways was how much of a presence Bobrov command when he speaks as well as how well respected Boucher is by the team.

Becomes apparent why Gorton brought Bobrov along with him. Right or wrong, he isn’t a yes man.

I liked the video. Of course, some trade tactics aren't discussed -- and shouldn't be. Good enough to say they worked hard at it around the clock over a 48-hour period.

Makes the other GM look like a hard negotiator and keeps Hughes' and the Habs' reputation as classy trade partners.

Also liked the point Gorton made about role players having been real contributors at some point before defining their role. Hell, Carbonneau was a 50-goal scorer in Junior!

So, don't fall in love with the character if there is no high end skill at the root. Habs looking for skill AND character, not character above skill!

Slafkovsky, IMO, was taken because, apart from the monster size and skill that was gleaned, was constantly improving under pressure. That says a lot about his potential to grow as a Hab prospect in the high pressure environment that Montreal is.

Great video. Slaf may have gone 1st but you can see he s still a project that needs seasoning. I really hope he plays 0 NHL games this year, regardless of AHL production. Let him develop into a star before he has to deal with the Bell Center spotlight.

That was a pretty interesting watch and I'm still not happy that you traded Romy out of town Hughes so this move better work out for you. :)

I liked when Gorton said. Something likes. /: don’t fall in love in some players. Most of « NHL role player » were already good contributor on their junior years.

What I always keep saying. 99% of the time, the worst 4th liner would have been a PPG at one point in lower leagues.

Also, in that group, Shutron seemed to be a little intimidated there...lol.

Obviously in those videos, you are not going to see them talking smack about kids but one day, I would love that we hear them talking good about other possibilities they had in mind. Just to avoid Timmins-like revisionist histories. All great to have Mesar at 26 and even think Beck was worth of the 26th pick...but was there anybody out there talking about Kulich? No need to have statements bashing Kulich...just keep the good ones out there. Nothing wrong with praising a guy you end up not taking...Really wonder what was Routa take on Kulich...

As far as analytics are concerned, that's exactly how I'd use them. I wouldn't start using it...but if there's a group in there with some kind of hesitation between players, analytics would kick in and help me decide. And I'm pretty sure it could help it every time it's used.
