Hillis was off to a good start with 3R. He had 2 goals in 3 GP. And he looked good in those games, as well. So hopefully for him, he will get a chance to play in the AHL with Rockford.

Everytime I saw him play in Laval he never looked out of place and could never understand why he was never part of this organization.

Not sure why yet. I'm assuming Beaudin goes from AHL with the Blackhawks to AHL with the Habs? If the Habs activate him, they would have to place him on waivers to go back down?

It's very likely that Eddy will be activated but might not play against the Sabres.

I agree that he didn't look out of place. However, he didn't necessarily do enough to knock someone else off either.

When he turned pro, I was wondering why he wasn't playing. And every time Joel Bouchard was asked about it, he would say something along the lines that Hillis needed to learn how to practice like a pro. That he needed to adapt to not being in Junior anymore. So it seemed like Hillis didn't make a good first impression.

He's a good player to have in the AHL. Not every move is going to bring in the next top pairing defenseman. Him being a local kid is an added bonus, though.

So they trade an ECHL forward to bring in an AHL/NHL defenseman and then acquire another forward to play in the ECHL to replace Hillis' spot.
