Me, the past eight years as an American: extremely frustrated with my country and its people, politicians, and media.

Me waking up to hear Simone Biles got another gold medal:

Biles wins gold in the vault.

NID. If Biles compete, it's just a matter of who comes for silver. She's so far superior to her opponents that she can just increase the difficulty of her exercise, land (even in the venue's parking) and she will win. GOAT.

The only apparatus she seems not to be interested into is the UB.

Alice D'amato wins gold for Italy! Andrade 4th, Biles 5th.

There was talk that the color disparity of the mat/beam was causing problems this year and thats why even back to qualification round there was lots of falls. I expected some degree of wildness today. Biles and Andrade's scores seemed a bit too low to me while D'Amato's seemed way too high, it did not matter in Biles case but that might have cost Andrade a medal.

Apparently not, failed to medal on the beam, silver on the floor (landed out of bounds twice)

This is beyond disgusting. And Nadia Comenici is dead to me for her part in this travesty.
Chiles lost her medal because the US was 4 seconds late in filing their protest. Nothing to do with the judges being WRONG!!!

A brief history of US athletes losing medals that they won at the Olympics.

Jordan Chiles - 2024 (Lost the Bronze after being misjudged, then protesting 4 seconds too late)

Rick Demont - 1972 (Lost the Gold in swimming because his asthma med was unapproved After win)

USA Men's basketball team - 1972 (Screwed out of the Gold by a Communist from the UK, who came out of the stands and ordered the game officials to reset the clock to 3 seconds THREE TIMES. The team did not show for the medal ceremony and has repeatedly refused the Silver medal.)

Jim Thorpe - 1912 (Lost his Gold medals in 1913 for Decathlon and Pentathlon playing baseball for $5 a game) Thorpe's was made co-champion in 1982. Thorpe's medals and records were never restored!

Everybody loses, but it's not like Chiles' routine was lights out, actually far from it and she knew it. She got awarded the 0.1 because after the inquiry they considered one of her difficulties completed when in reality it is highly debatable it was.

Romania gymnastic, which is going through some nasty internal friction, started this not to actually favour Barbosu (who's coached by a dutch coach), rathen Sabrina Voinea who is in the "old guard" faction of romanian gymnastics (Camelia, her mother, was an Olympian in Seoul).
At the end Voinea's bid was rejected while it was found about the ridiculous four seconds delay in USAG's inquiry.
Apparently romanian federation asked for all three gymnasts to have the bronze, rejected by FIG and IOC, so Barbosu got the bronze.

Barbosu lost her podium moment and got absolute crushed while celebrating. Chiles got her bronze stripped after a week and she's now crushed and stopped all her socials to look after her mental health. The old guard of romanian gymnastics, which bullied and harassed Barbosu for years (to the point she wanted to quit two years ago), now see her getting a medal and you can be sure they are not happy either (f*** them!).

Absolute shitshow.

Eh, DeMont tested positive and had failed to apply for a medical exemption. Ephedrine was banned and he was responsible for what was in his body.

Give all three of them the bronze, IOC. It's not hard. Taking a medal away because of a judging error isn't it. If I'm Jordan, I'm getting on the next flight to the US, bronze medal and all. And if I'm Ana, I'd refuse to accept the bronze unless Jordan is allowed to keep hers.

He was told that his asthma medication was okay before the Olympics. After winning the Gold, he was told that it wasn't okay.

Twenty-three athletes from China claimed that they ate tainted meat, but WADA said that was okay. They were not held responsible for what was in their bodies!

WADA is a corrupt organization!
The head of WADA, Richard Pound, who is Canadian, once said that 1/3 of NHL players were on PEDs. No proof at all for that. The NHL had drug testing 10 years before MLB started a program.
