Guess the Kings top three picks.

5. Zegras -- I keep flip flopping between Cozens and Zegras (assuming Byram/Turcotte are off the board).
22. Seider -- I could see a scenario where the Kings make a small trade up to #18 to leapfrog Ottawa at #19.
33. Hoglander -- Obviously tough to guess who might be available and/or unexpectedly slip.

I think the Kings stay away from Turcotte after going through one injury bust bluechip prospect in Vilardi.

I think they pick Dach or Cozens at #5. Byram will be gone.

If Kaliyev falls to #22, take him and run.

No clue who they pick at #32.

You know it's going to be:

#5 Kirby Dach
#22 Mathieu Roberston
#33 Brett Leason

#5 ZEGRAS (but fear they select Dach)
# 13 NEWHOOK (or Kaliyev ) to Florida: #22, #32, Toffoli to LA: #13, #52
# 52 KORCZAK D

Three things I'm thinking:

1. I expect Alex Turcotte and Bowen Byram to both be gone before pick #5 rolls around.
2. I figure Alex Newhook and Bobby Brink to both be gone before the second pick.
3. There's going to be a wild run on defensemen towards the middle of the draft.

Kirby Dach
Ryan Johnson
Egor Afanasyev

So, I've mentioned that I'm a fan of ridiculous gimmicks so the possibility of King Kupa (Rasmus Kupari) scoring off passes from Kirby (Dach) amuses me. And in a multiverse with infinite possibilities, there is an alternate reality where those two are pumping points for the Kings like Gretzky feeding Kurri.

Gotta get over the Dach fear. There is a reason he is elevating high on boards and has been projected as high as #3 on some mocks. The guy is a really good player. Is it more of a preference for Zegras than a disdain for Dach?

I like your #13 pick a lot. Sign me up for that. I would also consider Broberg there if he happened to slide.

What's your feel on Korczak? Pronman has him all the way down at #89 ranked and a fringe guy to make it to the NHL. McKeen's has him at #69.

Yeah, the only knock on Dach's skating is his relatively slow first steps, which he acknowledged, and which can be corrected. Hell, how many times have we heard how Robitaille improved his first steps?

Consistency is the only other Dach question mark I've heard come up. We're getting either Byram or Dach.
