we like to wait until the very last second to try and get the best deal possible.Carolina has the better assets than any of those teams and if their management had an ounce of balls he would’ve been a Hurricane by now.
Why dont we need anymore 30 yrs olds on long term deals?I’m kind of surprised we (Canucks) are in on him. I understand the Pittsburgh connection but we already got Lindholm. Are we really going to get the two top rental forwards? At what cost? What about helping the defence instead?
I’m guessing if we got Guentzel they’d re-sign him by giving him a blank cheque for 8 years which is annoying. We don’t need more 30 year olds on long term deals.
Guentzel for Necas with the assumption Jake would like to resign there. Adding Guentzel to the top 6 would make them quite formidable in the East.Carolina has the better assets than any of those teams and if their management had an ounce of balls he would’ve been a Hurricane by now.
Which only works if it's only two teams talking. With 6, someone will pay the price to get the guy.we like to wait until the very last second to try and get the best deal possible.

Arguably the two best offensive prospects for the Canes? Bold. Also unlikely. The report was that they wanted 2 prospects over 2 picks, but I think picks would also be included.
Bringing my post from the other Guentzel thread, these are my expectations for a rental Guentzel trade with some of the rumored teams:
-Vegas: Brisson, Korczak and a 2024 2nd
-Carolina: Nadeau, Koivunen and a 2024 2nd
-Vancouver: Hoglander, Raty and a 2025 1st
-Florida: Samoskevich, Sawchyn and a 2025 2nd

I don't want to move Hoglander. He's trending top six rather than middle six.The Vancouver offer seems to be more valuable than the other offers you wrote
Maybe if they think they can't re-sign both the big dogs they take their shot now? Damn the consequences.I think the Oilers are out because Geuntzel has likely indicated that he wont re-sign there long term.
You aren't wrong, it annoys some of us as well.Which only works if it's only two teams talking. With 6, someone will pay the price to get the guy.
If we see a Guentzel to Vancouver tweet before Friday you know JR went nuts. Here's hopingHey Jimmy, you hear this?
Don't let them snatch your boy out from under you.
That's what I was getting at...The Vancouver offer seems to be more valuable than the other offers you wrote
Surely there's a big market for Karlsson as well. Amirite?
I bet he goes to Vegas

I mean, what do you think a 40 goal, PPG winger with a terrific playoff track record goes for?
This isn't asking for a Lekkerimaki or Jarvis level asset. A B+ prospect, a B prospect and a 2nd for a rental Guentzel is entirely reasonable.
I don't think it is. It's entirely aligned with the Vegas deal in my eyes. Hoglander and Brisson are a wash and Korczak is a better prospect than Raty IMO, so the Canucks need to add a 2025 1st but Vegas would be fine with a 2024 2nd.
Canucks arent giving 2 first round value ( Hoglander, 2025 1st) for Geuntzel plus one of their top 5 prospects (Raty)
If Hoglander is included in the deal it will be
Hoglander, 3rd and 5th for Guentzel
