I guess that Lafreniere doesn't need to bust that much to never put up Guentzel's numbers (particularly as he probably won't have the same offensive support for a lot of his career), but that is what the question is. He's definitely got the higher ceiling.

Guentzel has a 40g season under his belt. Over a point per game in 41 playoff games and was over a PPG last season before getting hurt. Lafreniere has a higher ceiling, but there is no guarantee he'll put up those numbers. I would bet that he will though.
