Guelph wins the game! Hills slides it into the net from in front of the crease! Oh wait the net hasn't been in place for who knows how long.. oops. There goes the integrity of this game.. on national television as well.

Anyone see how the net came off it’s moorings and rested against the back boards?

Merkley big deficit lack of speed.
out of position .. lazy .late in game..chasing down give.aways ..heez no defenceman.... he thinks offence... very gifted ... but that is countered by a constant sloppy defensive integrity..coughs up too much under pressure..like to see him on power play ... but play center otherwise..

I feel for Guelph. Either blow the play dead or whatever happens until the whistle blows counts.

At the same time, Guelph did themselves no favors.

Lots of players especially #5 passing on quality shots.

Merkley and Ratcliffe both taking penalties while on the man advantage. Gotta stay disciplined and capitalize on the mistakes.

yup

Hard to take this loss for so many reasons. Bad reffing, bad penalties, a player that decides he'd rather play ring around the rosie than hockey, bad decisions by Burnett or the fact that knowing London has to cheat by kicking the net off not once but twice in the last 10 minutes of the game and the refs not calling a penalty or awarding a goal. This game should have been done in overtime. Just sick of London getting away with the shit they do because everyone is afraid to stand up to Hunter.

PLEASE like as if the storm players were angels all game lol...They did a lot of cheap things...and can we truly confirm that Kooy knocked that net off?

Well I didn't see Casper back there knocking it off and the only other player at the net was Kooy. You do the math. And your boys did just as many cheap shots if not more than the Storm boys. London just doesn't know how to play fairly, it's not in Hunters DNA to play a fair game. Now go back to your own boards and stop trolling here.

The net was off before the Storm even went up ice was it not ?

It wasn't out of position, and no Storm player was ever near the net, It was barely off of the anchors and Kooy took advantage of that. If he had left it, the goal would definitely have counted. But the thing is, he did it again with around 30 seconds left while London was in the Guelph zone, he would have just done the same thing.

It's smart, but at no point should it be allowed.

It's in the past now though, and it's not a definitive answer. Just glad we got an excellent hockey game.

I see the west as a race between Guelph and London - The race being who buys the most and how those players fit in with others. Other teams who are contenders now will be pretenders later as they can't keep up to the arms race.

Saginaw may want the 2 seed; and, have the pieces to participate in that race.

If it was visibly off the moorings the goal wouldn't have counted. Play should have been whistled down as soon as Guelph gained possession in their own end

It's just barely noticably off after Kooy pushes off to stop cross crease pass Samorukov one timer at 1:31 remaining. Guelph picks it back up in their end and the crowd starts to roar as they hit the blue line.
It's safe to say the players, officials and 99% of the crowd didn't notice until Hillis was on top of the crease.
That was definitely the awkwardest moment of my hockey watching career.
If Kooy did kick it off intentionally there would have been a noticeable and unmistakable crowd uproar.

Lol second best record in the league give us some credit we are at least very good at "cheating".

I am always surprised a little by the ripping Merkley takes from some Guelph posters but I must admit against the Knights I can see what drives some folks crazy about him. He seems dis-interested at times will have to clean up the compete level if he wants a meaningful NHL career. Assuming his Ice Time is high but if you have to alter your style of play to accomadate the minutes he plays they would be better off to cut him back and have him at 100% all the time. BUT the kid has skills for sure and without him Guelph is not nearly as strong a team?

The offensive talent is there and very needed from the back end. Excellent vision and poise. Best D in the league from that perspective in my opinion.

What drives most crazy is the lack of defence, physical strength defensively, no grit, and the who cares attitude when he turns over a puck and the other team scores AGAIN. I thought this part of his game would have been changed after his stint with SJ.

This is the part that is so frustrating and I understand better now after the recent Knights / Storm game. It was so evident
I can’t believe a coach at some point hasn’t gone to battle with this kid and “played” it out of him. I guess his offensive game which is elite level for sure has kept it hidden to some degree? Let’s hope he “gets it” as he really is fun to watch in the offensive zone.
