GTA VI???

I played Vice City so often to only hear the soundtrack. Steal a car and whip around the city with the tunes playing. I hope they can re-create that with 6.

Slightly off topic and moving the I to the other side of the V.

With 6 delayed, I know it's rumored the a remastered 4 is still expected this year. Plot aside there were so many mechanics/elements not sure on the best word their in 4 that were far superior than what we got in 5, one I hope they don't get neutered in the remaster and two I would hope 6 is closer to 4 than 5 in those things, damage, tire deflation ect.

Agree. IMO San Andreas and 4 are the peak of GTA. The map and variety of SA is still the best, while I think the world of 4 was the most fun to inhabit. Something about 5 just felt more empty metaphorically, nicer to look at but didn’t have the same enjoyment to toy around with.

I agree with SA being peak, IMO. But for some reason, 4 didn't connect at all. I found a lot of the new mechanics and story beats kinda tiresome (Hey cousin, you want go bowling?).

I think that's the only GTA I did not complete.

4 was the most grounded story and atmosphere that Rockstar has pulled off in a GTA game, easily. It had a lot of humor but also pathos. Very underrated game. It wasn't perfect and some of the mechanics sucked (like the friendship meter thing - good idea in theory but annoying in practice), but overall it was a fun experience. Everyone hates the physics but I never minded it.

What blows my mind is how the span of time between the release of GTA 4 and today is longer than the span of time between the setting of Vice City in 1986 and the release of the game in 2002. GTA 4 looks reasonably modern with a few exceptions (Internet cafes and such), whereas Vice City felt like it was another world away from the time it was released. I guess it's the homogenization of culture on display.
