I’d say since about 2015. Split between people that said Benning sucked and people that thought they were hockey savants and Benning was playing 10D chess.
I remember a lot were wanting a re-tool after the game 7 loss.
Then getting swept by Calgary, debate about rebuild/re-tool.
Then it was Luongo or Schneider.
Then Benning or Linden.
Then Benning is god or he sucks.
Then it was bubble playoffs Canucks are good or not.
Then a couple years of just everything sucking again.
Now Miller or Pettersson pick a side.

Maybe the internet has magnified more voices over time. Whoever yells the loudest is heard the most.

Nothing good ever lasts and things can't seemingly go right one after another for the Canucks.

If a trade was to happen, I think it would have happened yesterday. Doubt he gets traded before the TDL

It sounds like one was almost at the finish line and then it wasn’t. Things can move fast, but it’s gone all quiet now. I get the feeling that if something happens, it’ll be broken by the team and everyone will be shocked.

He looks annoyed, who doesn't talking to Van media. He seems like the scape goat for managements failures.

I think they are just trying to drive up the price and get more teams involved.

Really don’t understand the Braeden Schneider hype. Reading comments from Rags fans, they don’t seem to love his play either. Nothing from his statistical profile really impresses me either.

I’m sure he’s an upgrade on what we have but unless he has a significant step to take as a player he doesn’t seem like a needle mover.

Seems like the main selling point is that he was a 1st round pick, he’s a RHD with some size and he cracked the nhl early?

Cool

I wonder if the deal was contingent on dumping Zibinejad to a third team and he vetoed it with his NMC.
I'll always find it strange how apparently it's common practice for two teams to work out a trade and then ask the players involved with trade protection to waive.

I get that in some cases you might not want the player to know you're trying to trade him in case the deal doesn't get worked out, but in this situation where the players involved have to know their teams want them out it seems kind of silly.

Not getting an "A" piece back for Miller would really suck, don't even care if it's a prospect or roster player.

Would you guys consider a Pitts unprotected 1st in 26 or 27 straight up for JT? Maybe Pitts is desperate enough to risk it.

My wife, daughter and I went out for dinner Friday night.

There was a young couple next to us with a daughter similar in age.

We both had our meals and so happened to order ice cream for the girls for dessert. Dessert came out at the same time and we looked at each other with a smile and laugh.

Then the guy at the other table starts talking to his wife about the Canucks and how EP was invisible (Kings game just happened) and how he’s going to be traded.

I had to hold myself together to not respond since I would never be allowed to go out in public with my family again.

This is where we are at in this saga.

To me he's Van's version of Myers. Okay at times, playing too much and too high up in the line for too long shows poor results.

I’d rather KAM tbh but he is also a pending RFA and not sure what that next contract looks like.

But I understand wanting Schneider as RHD are extremely difficult to find.

He's a guy they were interested in a couple of years ago when last JTM was on the trade block. Since then, the shine has worn off Schneider significantly from a potential top pairing RHD to more a middling #4.

EP making an overture to VAN, even when the team is losing hard, reinforces his buy-in to the environment. This is the drafted C that chose to re-sign for 8 years. There was no assurance that the team would be a winner. Look at what is happening now? And still, he chooses to remain.

This guy is a Canuck.
Canucks fans say a lot of dumb things but the theory that EP didn't want to be here and was "pressured" or "forced" to sign his long term extension has got to be near the top of the list.

Wyatt Johnson is a good consolation prize though

Never is a million years would any competent GM trade a right shot centre who was an immediate high impact three zone player in his D+2 season (despite losing his entire draft year of development) and has been on a steep development curve since.
