Mixed feelings on everything. Still in shock we’re at this potential stage after the promise of last season.
Fr. I can't remember the last time I was as excited for a seaaon to start as this one. Now this.

Same. Felt like we were starting a contention window. I really thought they could be better than last season with the forward adds, they overcame such adversity staying afloat through all the injuries too, hard to explain how it's gotten to this so quickly.

Been thinking lately this season feels alot like 13-14. They were doing so well that season, then everything absolutely fell apart in the new year.

Like, for example, if they were doing Hamilton for Miller 1:1, getting 1MM retained in Hamilton to make it dollar for dollar 8MM for 8MM
JT already a great contract so no need to retain, canucks wanting retention on the return makes more sense like you said, however hopefully not Hamilton.

Wouldn’t be excited about any of those players… would be an awful trade if that was the package.
I think its a three team trade or canucks flip whatever futures basically immediately..

It could be just a wild-eyed optimism, but I think Allvin and Rutherford may still have plan.

Miller and Boeser will net them serious 'assets'......then they rebuild around Hughes and Pettersson, with hopefully a much better group of young guys in the lineup and prospects in the immediate pipeline.

Granted it feels like a stretch as this point......but somehow you just knew that Miller would never finish his contract out in Vancouver; and it was always a 'longshot' that they'd ever sign Boeser to a new deal. If it didn't happen after his 40-gol season a year ago, it was never going to happen.

I honestly think it would be good to move on from JT.

He’s surly as hell, about to turn 32 and now is battling injuries.

If you get the right deal to reset, it’s probably for the best.

His value is never going to be higher.

Feel like he has 1-3 years of this level of play before he falls off and that contract becomes negative value.

I don't understand how anyone here thinks trading Boeser and Miller is a good idea. The return will be super unwelming for either not to mention we probably won't make the playoffs again anytime in the next few years. Our best winger would be DeBrusk. And 2nd centre Suter? LMAO. Honestly I hope no trades happens and this core can reset in the off season and get a good piece on D and start fresh next year.
we have not done it for a while but some of the best trades in canuck history are trades where we gave up the best player in a hockey trade.

-linden > bertuzzi/mccabe

-butcher/quinn > courtnall/ronning/momesso/dirk

-nedved/janney> brown/hedican/lafayette
