I think if we go back to the Gary Mason article - the guy who is unquestionably connected to Aquilini - I believe he alluded to players in the room being somewhat fed up with both Miller and Pettersson's respective bits. So it's not a huge stretch to say a specific teammate (or teammates) is fed up with Miller.

Seriously top 10-15? I find that rather aggressive and yes his offense was phenomenal but he was a very loud player that could be just as detrimental as he was impactful
he was a +35, had massively positive shot diffs, ate a ton of ES minutes and managed top 8 point production while doing so (over the 6 year prior to and including the year his hip issues began).

Not sure where to stick this - for anyone who wasn't aware that Jake DeBrusk had a concerning stalker, this got posted.

Seems like the Canucks are aware of the stalker and taking steps to avoid a conflict. The individual involved definitely needs some help.

Wow that's wild. The alleged stalkers tweets are protected but from replies it sounds like it's followed him from Boston.

Really hope they get help, and that DeBrusk remains safe. Crappy situation for everyone.

Yeah, it started in Boston. She's been stalking DeBrusk for a while.

John Klingberg (Darren Dreger)
  • 5-7 teams now in the mix for him
  • Had hip resurfacing surgery in the fall of 2023
  • Would put the front runners as the Maple Leafs with the Oilers & Senators as honourable mentions
Vancouver Canucks (Chris Johnston)
  • Sense that the Canucks are holding things up with having Miller & Pettersson on the market
  • League-wide sense that Miller is the more likely of the two to get traded
  • Teams believe that if it’s the right situation, Miller would waive his NMC
  • Not might not see other action across the league until this is dealt with
  • Could take some time before something happens
Calgary Flames (Pierre LeBrun)
  • No interest in trading Rasmus Andersson; Flames are confused as to why other teams are calling on him
  • Want to extend Andersson this summer
  • Don’t want to tear down the roster
Los Angeles Kings (Darren Dreger)
  • Eager to get Drew Doughty back from ankle surgery
  • Expected to rejoin the kings in a non-contact jersey as early as next week
  • Are hoping he makes it back to the lineup before the 4 Nations Tournament
Dallas Stars (Pierre LeBrun)
  • Thinks the stars will add a top-6 forward and top-4 defencemen before the trade deadline
  • Haven’t placed Tyler Seguin’s cap hit on LTIR because they are trying to accrue cap space

So now it's the Canucks fault nothing is getting done...

That's such a series of nothing statements that hedge his bets so regardless of what happens he can save face and say "nailed it."

IIRC, Klingberg played a lot with Lindell during their respective prime. While Klingberg is doing his thing offensively, Lindell was taking care of the defensive side, and he was excellent at it. They were an excellent pair, but I wouldn't give Klingberg all the credit of the success mentioned above. Prime Lindell was amazing, like a left-handed Tanev.

But that was then, the current Klingberg is likely to be a shadow of that player, even if his surgery was successful. For a bury-able contract, he is worth the risk, but I'm sure other teams will offer him better money and opportunities than he will get here. Plus I don't think RT will play him anyways.

nevermind i found it

i mean.. tyson barrie, keith yandle and torey krug were right there too in scoring, were they sniffing top 15? i'm not trying to be a dick but is it the plus/minus that is swaying it

i don't get it that's all
