You know nothing is available on the market for defensemen when the Canucks apparently have interest in Klingberg. Yikes.
Nothing is going to happen till closer to the TDL.
4 Nations.
Too many teams in the mix.
Not enough cap space.
Inability to meet other teams needs.
So lack of options or sky high prices.
The East is pretty open. The West unless someone catches fire it's between Van and Cgy for the last spot.Nothing is going to happen till closer to the TDL.

I’ve been assuming there won’t be much movement before the tournament since as a buyer you lose a couple weeks of cap space accrual during the tournament. It’s a bit different jumping early on an acquisition when they can help you for a few extra weeks. Curious to see how it plays out.Should have around 4.5m by the time the 4 Nations Tournament starts so cap space won't really be an issue. The rest is right.
I do think we'll start seeing activity around the end of January beginning of February as teams start getting antsy. The big factor will be how they treat the 4 Nations Tournament. If the NHL sends out a quiet memo that they would prefer no trades are made during this time, like in the playoffs, because they want the focus to be on the tournament, then we could see a bunch before and after. Ideally if that happens, then the Canucks can start getting involved. GMs love wallowing in chaos.

Agreed. I was mainly referring to the East where almost everyone is still in the running for a playoff spot. The East is pretty open. The West unless someone catches fire it's between Van and Cgy for the last spot.
Van 1 point out, Utah 6 points behind Cgy.
1st wild card Ottawa .536 is 4 points up on 9th place Islanders.
In the five seasons prior to the hip injury which began in 19/20 and ultimately resulted in the resurfacing procedure he was a top 10-15 defenseman in the league. Elite offense (both PP and ES) and decent defensively. Even in the hobbled years, the offense was good.Klingberg never was what he appeared to be
not enough righties. sit hughes and call up WooHughes Desharnais
DeAngelo Juulsen
Klingberg Myers
Soucy
Hronek
Seriously top 10-15? I find that rather aggressive and yes his offense was phenomenal but he was a very loud player that could be just as detrimental as he was impactfulIn the five seasons prior to the hip injury which began in 19/20 and ultimately resulted in the resurfacing procedure he was a top 10-15 defenseman in the league. I would say that Cam is slightly more reliable then your average fan but probably less tapped in then say a Thomas Drance or Jeff Paterson. How reliable is this guy?
Hope he gets their consent.I would say that Cam is slightly more reliable then your average fan but probably less tapped in then say a Thomas Drance or Jeff Paterson.
He rubs shoulders with scouts.
*If* this is true, could also be Demko. Or if you want to stretch the term star it could be Hronek.
