I can't imagine the offers are good with how bad Demko's been. Not to mention, Carolina is notorious for offering as little as possible.
What does a miller demko package get back?I can't imagine the offers are good with how bad Demko's been. Not to mention, Carolina is notorious for offering as little as possible.
Why? He’s just recapping radio hits, just ignore his actual comments loltaj tweets should get deleted asap.
everyone knows why..Why? He’s just recapping radio hits, just ignore his actual comments lol
While in this case he did nothing wrong, sometimes he'll exaggerate what was said. Why? He’s just recapping radio hits, just ignore his actual comments lol
This is how I see it too. They were always going to need to thread the needle on executing their compete now! approach, and they largely did up until this summer, but no one could have reasonably thought that the reason they would have failed to execute their plan was a combination of: (a) JT Miller turning into a huge bozo again; (b) JT Miller and Pettersson not being able to get along; (c) JT Miller's play dropping off due to him being a baby; (c) Pettersson starting to score at like half the rate he is capable of; and (d) Demko (and I know he's injury prone) suffering a totally novel injury for a goalie to suffer and (at least as of now) going from a Vezina candidate to a below average/below 900 svp goalie.
I think the good news is that, notwithstanding where we find our selves in the standings, this management hasn't proven to be incompetent and may be able to handle the inevitable retool to follow.
Carolina collects all of the injury-prone goalies (Freddy Anderson, Kochetkov, Raanta last year, etc)
So their interest in Demko checks out.
I'll be honest, I'd lock up Lankinen ASAP and try to dump Demko for anything at this point.
Based on Demko's own comments about needing to adjust how he plays going forward because of that playoff injury, and how awkward and uncomfortable he looks moving in net, I don't see him ever fully bouncing back unfortunately. And that doesn't even factor in he's injury-prone which will further complicates things as he gets older. It also doesn't help that his favorite goalie coach is gone.
If you can get him off the books without taking back a contract signed beyond this season you do it, especially with that OEL buyout cap hit doubling next season. I would also consider retaining salary if the Canucks can get a good asset back.
I would love nothing more than a site-wide rule to post screenshots only. We should not be providing ad money to that loseri mean .. is it that surprising?
i mean all tweets should be deleted asap considering twitter is now officially a nazi run platform. Every click/impression/view on twitter is revenue to a proud Nazi.
if anything last year showed that with one working 1C and a backup goalie, the team can actually go toe to toe with a contender.I'm a little less forgiving due to the fact this group chose Miller over Horvat (which was successful until it wasn't and obviously Miller's personality has not changed), extended Pettersson AFTER he started playing like ass and despite a pretty tempting rumoured package on the table from the Hurricanes, and then butchered the blue line. The only thing that was totally out of nowhere was Demko's injury, but there were warnings (Seravalli's oft-quoted being the most famous) pretty much all along he had systemic issues with his legs dating back to college. I will say, I would not have expected anything different with Demko, though.
I think they may have exceeded the ceiling I thought they'd have for the strategy taking Edmonton to seven games last year, and they did it maybe a year ahead of where I would have expected it (largely based on the timing of Hughes and Demko's contracts, the cap, and OEL's retention schedule). So kudos for that I suppose (and some good defensive moves last year with Cole and Zadorov).
Yeah Woodley isn't typically a rumour monger, so I will take him at his word hereWoodley's "goalie sources" did break the popliteus.
You hae to wonder how broken is Demko if we are shopping him.Woodley's "goalie sources" did break the popliteus. Goalie WhatsApp group must be fire.
