I think it's because Lindholm has struggled both in Calgary following that stellar season, wasn't great here until the playoffs and hasn't worked out whatsoever in Boston. Whereas Zadorov has seemingly found his stride now, alongside the playoff run with us.
I wouldn't be opposed to Lindholm coming back, but there would need to be retention. Which I can't imagine Boston is interested in.
BOS would have to retain. That's non-negotiable (or should be).
The funny thing is that Zadorov still had a worse cap efficiency rating per Dom's Model going into the season, and Lindholm broke the bank!
I didn't realize he had found his stride? Here are some of the latest comments on him in their player discussion thread:
"He makes a few blatant easily correctable mistakes every game. He does not seem to care about zone defense."
"His hockey processing time is extremely slow for this level."
"His main issue is inconsistent reads defensively"
"Like others I notice he is somewhat lost defensively and makes some questionable decisions."
I just want this team to have someone that can put Perry in place Ok.
Friedman tried, and Perry played him.
No one cares about fighting if the team is winning and there's at least some comradery. Find a way to win first.
