I don't get the sense Quinn dislikes JT either, but I also really don't think brass would have concluded they need to trade JT if Quinn wasn't on board, or at least leaning in that direction.
Given the calibre of player JT is, the preferred scenario is obviously to keep him. He must really rub everyone on the team the wrong way if they decided six weeks ago that the situation has gone too far.
Perhaps if they can't get anything resembling fair value back for JT, they end up moving Pettersson instead.
Worked out well enough in 2013 when after months of trying to move Luongo Gillis shocked the hockey world by trading the younger player; and then less than a year later they traded Luongo for Markstrom. Both high end franchise goalies dealt in less than a year.
