They called "D-Petey" up before for a sniff and didn't play him. We'll see if it's different this time.
We knew that though at the time that they wanted to get him up and back up, and have a pro practice just to be familiar.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the same thing given Forbort isn’t the problem, but also maybe they just want a look and want a shake up and that’s an easy move.

Yeah unless Forbort is injured I see very little chance he breaks in on the left-side.

I like Carolina for futures (lots of picks, Nadeau, Blake, Unger-Sorum, Artamonov, etc ... Morrow and Nikishin are pipe dreams) and New Jersey for roster players (Siegenthaler, Haula, Mercer, etc). Just don't see a great fit with NYR. Maybe K'Andre Miller.

The offer for JT Miller must just be absolutely terrible, or he would have been traded ages ago

Well it sounds like the Rangers were the ones who pulled out because they wanted retention and/or more favorable conditions on their 1st round pick.

So if the reported package wasn't already bad enough, they were looking to make it worse.

Which is scary to say the least.

Considering the rumors were Cytrill, Lindgren and the Rags wanting us to retain, yes, yes they are. Drury is basically playing Be a GM mode and adding in as little as possible til we say yes.

At this point, it's either make a serious offer or we wait until the summer.

If I’m being optimistic, I think both Miller and the team have soured on one another (but perhaps not irreconcilably) and Miller has made a soft request for a trade, and the Canucks are exploring the market but won’t be pressured into a poor return from one of the few teams Miller is currently fine to be traded to.

The downside is this isn’t a great situation for the current play of the team. But with that said, I’m not sure if we could reasonably expect a Miller trade to turn around this season anyway. Seems unlikely to make a big difference to me. And if that’s the case, take your time, and pull the trigger before / at the draft if need be.

Weren’t we close to saying yes? Miller was told he wasn’t playing that night, meaning they were probably OK with Cythil and Lindgren.

Sillinger I like. Lots of pieces in CBJ that would be enticing.

Allvin has really lots a lot of faith with fans lately. He needs to pull a rabbit out of his hat here….

If I were GM, I'd trade Miller at full contract to New Jersey for Mercer, and spare parts.
Come summer time, screw them over and offersheet Luke Hughes where they can't match. 5 years at 9.15 M AAV, land a legitimate stud PMD for years to come only giving up a 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick and eventually steal Jack too

I just posted about this: They are testing and Miller is helping them do it. They go just far enough so as to incentivize them to sit Miller, then pull the offer. It's smart. If in their situation, knowing Miller does prefer to go there, I would do the same thing.
Let's not pretend Drury is some genius here lol. Screwing around is just bad business. He's an isolated GM.

7. Team to watch: Carolina. They are active, ready to pounce.

8. The Hurricanes and Rangers are two of the teams with permission to talk to J.T. Miller. Believe the New York offer was Filip Chytil, a first-rounder and a prospect. I get very mixed messages on New Jersey. The Rangers have the cap room to do it, but the Devils would need to perform roster surgery to pull it off. Yes, they struggled until pounding Boston on Wednesday, but that’s a good team. I’m not convinced about Dallas, either. I always assume I’m missing something, though.

9. Elias Pettersson communicated to the Canucks he wishes to stay. We will see how all of this unfolds.

10. A few days after frustrated comments to a Slovakian newspaper, things have cooled down around Simon Nemec. The Devils communicated to anyone who asked they have zero interest in the dealing the 2022 second-overall selection. If anything, the Olympic qualifier injury last August hurt his chances of making New Jersey. Things will reset next fall. Let’s see what unfolds then.

Like, What are we doing here?
If reports are true the deal was basically almost done, then a 1st and chytil is basically good enough for a JT Miller trade and that's I am sorry, Dreadful.
Just keep the guy, pressure him in the offseason to add more teams, and look for better opportunities.
Trading him now for pennies on a dollar makes no sense, Sorry, Zero

At some point people here have to realize Miller is not a particularly tradeable asset. He will be 32 soon, has too large of a cap hit for contenders to fit easily, has an NMC, and is a known malcontent. He doesn't have much trade value.
