It’s too bad they bungled the front office by hiring a president that turned around and hired a friend making it questionable as to the separation of both offices. In theory, any trade of Pettersson, should be evaluated by the president who should seek external advice as well to determine the best course of action for the team.

Because Alvin is going to have a bias of “competing now” since that’s clearly his plan and what he’s sold ownership on.
Why is it too bad? What are you wanting or worried about here?

Honestly in all fairness:

Miller
Hoglander

For

LAF
Schneider

Changes of scenery would be very helpful. Canucks get much needed help on defense. Canucks can maybe flip Boeser for a center?

Ideally there is separation between president and GM so the former can step in, as necessary, to protect the long term interests of the yea as that latter will inevitably be more co corned about the shorter term interests since their job depends. Think someone stepping in to stop Benning making the OEL trade.

We obviously have a president and GM structure, but given JR’s age, and the relationship between him and Alvin, I kind of doubt it will function as intended.

That's a bad look.

These are stupid

You guys keep looking for something to bitch about and you will find it. This happens to players all the time when they are gassed. Should i post the Tampa game for Pettersson shift by shift and when Braeden Point just outworked and skated through him to seal the deal.

I'm so sick of all the piling on Miller right now. From JT MILLER chants to a bunch of neurotic jerk offs taking aim at him on the heels of injury and mental health issues.
And now this crap on a back to back where his line is taxed with pushing and creating offense vs just defending and being opportunistic like most of the other players. Have you played and understand the difference in effort required and why a guy like Hoglander gets limited minutes when he's even playing well?

Not wanting to vent on you specifically but what are we doing here? Is this fandom?
The way forward is to make it burn i guess.

He actually played a good 2 periods ( i was there ) and was just out of gas by the 3rd physically. Incredibly frustrating with Boeser's cement boots and Debrusk struggling to complete plays. Add inept support at the blueline on the cycle and it's a slog.

If there was a way to somehow con Chicago into giving us Bedard, I would be all for it. Outside of Hughes, of course.

This board was ready to string up Miller by his balls a few years ago, and I remember being part of the madness. I've never seen so much hate directed at a player on this team outside of Messier.

Never seen such a greedy self involved uninvested non team player in my life. What an absolute and complete joke he was during that time period. Then he gets his act together and is a top 10 player with incredible consistency.

That's a bad look.

What an absolute loser. I'd effin quit on that guy in a heartbeat.

You made a really big mountain out of that. Haha. A lot you needed to get off your chest.

This is brutal.
I think maybe a dump high off the boards would have been a much suffer play. I'm not an NHL professional.

I've never sauntered to the bench like that in my life, and while the other team has the puck you just turned over. Not even beer league. What an insult to your teammates and the game of hockey. Get rid of this clown lol.

Absolutely pathetic. Effort is the base requitement of a teammate. What an ego he must have to think he's the only person that matters out there.

I see Kucherov do that every game. Tampa should have got rid of him a long time ago right?

Do you have any clips? If so then I stand corrected. I don't think I've ever seen quite that level of disregard for the team before though.

What about that overtime play a couple years ago where he gave up against the Flames in OT and allowed the player to score all the way from his own blueline without reaching the bench?

I also seem to remember another OT he similarly blew for us a couple weeks ago I think. Do NHL players not care at all about line changes. Is that really a thing?

You're generally right though I'm being fairly hyper critical. I don't hate Miller or anything but that display is just gross. If you don't want to play for your teammates sit on the bench and let someone else play that gives a shit.

In my bones, I just felt the J.T. Miller contract extension wouldn't age well......I didn't expect it to happen so quick, though.

I mean, it has aged well. And with how the whole team is struggling, it's not easy to disentangle JTMs struggles and the team as a whole.

That said, he seems to be in one of his funks, which he's prone to from time to time. He's a pretty unlikeable player when he's pouty like he is now.

I really thought Lafreniere was poised for a breakthrough season with the Rangers, as befitting the first overall draft pick.

But this season has been an unmitigated disaster so far.....still can't see any scenario where the Rags give up on him.

But if the do, it would mean that they traded a second overall pick in Kaako and the first overall pick in Lafreniere, in the same season. Just goes to show I guess how much the NHL draft is a crap-shoot, even at the very top.

No chance in hell Rangers say yes.

Maybe for either LAF or Schneider individually but even then I doubt it.
You don't think they'd trade a bottom pair defender who plays like he's deathly allergic to the offensive zone and a a second line winger for Miller?

Schneider broke in so quickly, but his development curve at the pro level has been almost totally flat. They need him to be a 2nd pair anchor, but he's not even close to that currently. Maybe he gets there, but i wouldn't bet anything meaningful on it. I'd rather have K'Andre Miller personally.

I get that Lafreniere will always be looked at differently because of where he was drafted, but he just isn't a game breaker. he had a nice heater in the second half of last season playing with Panarin and Trocheck, but he was the third best player on that line and hasn't been good this season IMO.

If the Rangers could find somewhere to move Zibabejad and /or Kreider and we were willing to send them Miller, they'd to it in a heartbeat IMO.

As much as Chytil’s last NHL shift could be anytime, I’d much rather him at his age, cap hit and contract length than Zib if the Nucks have to take back salary in a Miller deal.

If Laf is off the table, you push for Cuylle.

If they stick hard on both, I’d rather Perreault than Othmann he even though he’s a RW.

I’d also want KAM over Schneider.

Lastly, 1st should be included. Don’t really care if 2025 or 2026 but prefer 2025 in case NYR bounce back next year.

So Chytil, KAM, Perreault + 1st for Miller.

Rags keep most of the players they want to keep.

Nucks get a 2C, Top 4 d, blue chip prospect and a potential Top 10 pick.

I see we’ve reached the phase where everyone hates both the top-line centres.
I still like both ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think we'll lose a trade with either of them as far as trying to be competitive during Hughes' window goes.

Now my feelings towards our defense, on the other hand....
